Aim for ~30 actual watts per sqft with most lighting and you'll be fine. Or hid 2 250w would be cool. Tasty led has some leds that would be great for 4x2.Would this be enough for a 4x2 tent? With recreational passing in MA I'm wanting to start up a small tent for myself. I'd like to do 2-3 strains at a time.
You should probably forgo Mars in favor of COBs. If you seriously can't afford even one, and you're dead set on an LED panel, go with ViparSpectra instead. All solid quality and even extra functions (veg/bloom switch; daisy chain outlet) and it even looks cooler than MarsHydro.Currently running some cheap fluorescent 23w bulbs in a homemade reflector fixture. my flower chamber is roughly 18"x25"x60". I'm growing in a stealth ish cabinet dwc right now and my current light set up does fine to get me about 3oz of aurora indica or a bit more per run . I'm looking to improve my performance and looking into doing a scrog grow as well... my space doesn't allow for any hid bulbs for the heat or space alone but i believe a decent led could step things up. I'm on a slightly tight budget but have been watching some panels on ebay and Amazon for a while and could get 2 600w panels for a couple hundred or 2 300w panels for less than 200. does anyone have experience with this brand? i know it may not be top the line but I'm not in the market for professional grade either but would love something that performs well. any feedback from someone with personal experience with these would be great.
Ahh some of those look like great setups!Aim for ~30 actual watts per sqft with most lighting and you'll be fine. Or hid 2 250w would be cool. Tasty led has some leds that would be great for 4x2.
Actually timber has frames now. Look at timber grow lights probably closest to total diy cost you'll find
Or 2 northern grow lights
COB kits has the 3618s light engines too. That would also be cool.
did you build a light?Currently running some cheap fluorescent 23w bulbs in a homemade reflector fixture. my flower chamber is roughly 18"x25"x60". Lol! When you say dumb shit like that, how's anybody supposed to believe anything you say?Don't they own Amare? Same advertising and assembled in the same plant in china.
I'm not really following. What's wrong regarding what he said? I dunno shit about Amare.Lol! When you say dumb shit like that, how's anybody supposed to believe anything you say?
Because he's making up shit to start false rumors. He's been doing it for awhile just to get me going.I'm not really following. What's wrong regarding what he said? I dunno shit about Amare.
LOL I always have customers coming in a saying they want to save on heat and power because they heard LED don't produce any heat. Sure the led don't produce direct radiant heat like a HID lamp but a LED array running 600W power supply doesn't magically run cold.I agree but the heat is more of an abient heat than a direct such as HPS.
Its much more manageable.
People however needs to stop with LEDS dont produce heat.
They do, just easier to manage.
Not trying to naysay, but I can't imagine that flowers very well? And like CFLs, I'll bet they can be tedious.you can use these household led bulbs. cheap and work well. i use the 800 lumen ones. about to see how well they are for flower by experimenting with em,they are great fr veg! fuck mars...
HPS is a high intensity discharge lamp using an incandescent operation, which pretty much utilizes heat by design to excite the contained gasses and particles, creating light.LOL I always have customers coming in a saying they want to save on heat and power because they heard LED don't produce any heat. these sylvnaia bulbs actually have cree leds. i havent flowered with em yet but iv vegged large spaces with only 3 bulbs. 30w for like 3to 5sqft. these have saved me a ton of times when i run out of space for plants and just use a uhaul box with one per box. just got 5 more for 10 bux, might be the best value on light iv ever seen if they can indeed flower some nice flowers. Not trying to naysay, but I can't imagine that flowers very well? Good luck shipping Mars to China for repairs. If you really want to carry cheap LED panels for new growers, ViparSpectra is better quality for the money than Mars is. I'd trust ViparSpectra over MarsHydro's cheap barbecue fundraiser panels. What about Mars warranty and customer service? I'm looking into carrying cheap LED's in my shop for non cannabis growers but need proper wholesale/end user support and DIY Cob is not going to cut it legally for liability reasons, already been warned by the local fire dept about carrying non ETL/CSA lighting. Seeing peoples reactions to 400/600 HID+ digital ballast to brow herbs/micro greens/etc I need to bring in something that will be 400W or so for $300 Canadian max with proper warranty from the company.
customer service sucks! my friend bough 9 lights, all 9 are dead within the year and they wouldnt help after the 2nd broke...What about Mars warranty and customer service? Very nice. I don't think I'd ever do it unless I really needed to, but thank you for educating me.these sylvnaia bulbs actually have cree leds. i havent flowered with em yet but iv vegged large spaces with only 3 bulbs. 30w for like 3to 5sqft. these have saved me a ton of times when i run out of space for plants and just use a uhaul box with one per box. just got 5 more for 10 bux, might be the best value on light iv ever seen if they can indeed flower some nice flowers.
I really don't care what a company does with the money they make, they could throw hooker and blow parties for their employees, I care about service/warranty.Good luck shipping Mars to China for repairs.
