bigmanc ive called a few places and driven around most doctors and clinics in toronto are profit driven they will only sign MMPR paperwork,, so your tied to a LP.. they refuse to sign an Open prescription period. and worse yet, wont sign more than 3 grams.. i will get 90 grams a month, meaning 9 grams of extracted material which wont even last 2 weeks lol

I found these places on fluke. My family doc signed. 1 is on 1st Street in orangeville and 1 is on corner of Steeles and Kennedy in brampton, the new dr office built there across from Lowe's. You need to try harder, probably shouldn't have told you as it seems that what you've been waiting for. Yet again, found on a fluke.

I didn't say anything about more smokers. If you guys think that any government is going to look at any legal dispensary model that will allow them to obtain their supply from black market sources, you're delusional. Give me a break. Do you see stores being able to just go and buy reservation smokes and sell them? They are going to 'have' to be supplied by legitimate businesses, whether that be the current LP's or black market people coming out and becoming legitimate businesses. Big or small. And 'real' businesses run businesses in a real business manner which includes quality control and packaging.

Again...where the hell do you think legitimate, legal dispensary will get their supply? You guys have to get serious if you want people to take you seriously. Banks that handle your money. Insurance companies that cover your business. Legitimate investors. They're all looking for people who take business seriously and Zip Lock bags is not very serious. Better just stay home and don't waste your time.

And of course the black market isn't going anywhere soon, but it will get much smaller, just like black market smokes or liquor, and only to avoid the tax.

Even Amsterdam still runs on a grey market model because Amsterdam is not real legalization. It's a tolerance. They can crack down and close all of those coffee shops any damn time they want to, in reality.

Don't get me wrong guys, I hate LP's as much as you do but a truly legal system has to be above board all around
You are correct. Being above board includes having to follow the same rules and open market as any other business. Remember just months after getting licensed, some of these LP's were caught buying stock from the HA? They got their clones, seeds and expertise from mmar growers who were supplying the black market. They lobbied your political representatives to put profit before the needs of patients. How above board is that? These guys are shady as fuck. LP's, unfortunately, are here to stay, but their business model is going to change when the market opens up to everyone.

I agree on all points. There will by dispensaries and such, rest assured. Maybe not right away, but not long. These guys will have no option but to play nice and compete with a real, less restricted market. I'd like to see a small, Craft Cannabis market start up, just like wine and beer. LP's can't do everything.

and won't..the craft canna market will be the only way that prices will be fair..
cc's markup too and are only little different than an lp..and those lp's have HC to deal with..

Create a legal market; a legitimately competitive market, without getting greedy on the taxes, and the black market will be a blip on the radar.

Yes, there will always be bootleggers, as long as there is heavy taxation. But compared to bootleggers during prohibition it's a dead industry that "most" consumers don't take part in. They are supplied by legitimate companies through the theft of their products. Over 90% of the population do not use this method to obtain their goods. Get real.

In the early 90's, cigarettes where around $10/pack, 70/carton and the RCMP couldn't keep up with the boats and trucks smuggling non taxed cigarettes across the St. Lawrence from the U.S. The money they were spending trying to curtail this problem was astronomical and creating big problems. A good customer of mine at the time was working at a convenience store in Scarborough, graveyard shift, trying to earn money to support his family. Two bad dudes entered the store while Ross was mopping up the floor. One of them directly approached Ross and shot him in the head. The over loaded cartons into the garbage bags they brought. They did not steal anything else. Not even the money in the register. Only the smokes!!! They left a guys kids orphans all because of over taxation. For these guys, it was more profitable to sell stolen, overpriced/taxed cigarettes than selling weed or coke, and the punishment was practically nothing relative to the others. It was a win, win for the black market. So, one day, overnight, we woke up to the news that the government was removing most taxes from cigarettes and the price dropped in one day to around $2.50/pack or 16 bucks a carton, for brand names. There weren't really any cheapy smokes then. They were all the same price. All of a sudden there were a whole bunch a bad guys with a whole bunch of stolen supply that they couldn't sell.

I know that robbery well. My condolences over that lose for you. That was so trajic for sure. RIP to that young man.

Presently over half the cigarettes sold in Ontario are native and contraband.

The BM is going to live on. The boys have taxation and profits in mind and that will be their downfall. You can't be cheap per gram and have taxes and profits at the same time. Gonna be fun watching them figure that part out. They already know this, but don't know a way around it....because there isn't a way around that.

The only way to kill the BM is to go after it tooth and nail. They've been trying that since the 60's...and we all see how that went.

Thank you. We can definitely agree on the tax problem. Slowly, since that time, they creeped in the taxes again and now we have that contraband problem all over. They'll never learn. I truly understand your anger and frustration you have with LP's. I share most of them with you. Nothing I have more than these novices with money walking into the arena and kicking all the OG pioneers out is just wrong. But, I still think there's a place for them if they will play nice and fair. I'm just waiting to see what legalization is going to end up looking like when they finally announce it. I believe that's when the real battle for market share will start. I can buy an ounce of top shelf right now for $200 and ounce or $600 a QP. No LP or dispensary can offer me that right now so I'd stay black too if I wasn't able to grow. Whatever the first draft is, it will not be the final.

It's been a while since I've bought any, but my kid just paid $160 an ounce, down from the usual $180. Growers I know are bitching about the price being too low and predict it'll keep dropping...one just turned off the lights after many years of growing because there's no profit left.

I'm 50 now and I've been smoking since 78. I'm tired of this game and now that I have a ticket to grow my meds, I couldn't give a shit anymore. That may seem selfish but I've been sticking my next out to friends, family and anybody else who would listen, trying to change perceptions of cannabis while not giving a shit about their perceptions of me anymore. I've done my duty. The youngsters can thank me while I enjoy the fruits of my liberty. I have "stoner" friends that wouldn't say a peep on facebook for fear of reprisal who are openly posting memes about pot now. They wouldn't give me so much as a 'like' when I posted things in the past. Fucking pussies! lol

Hi guys

I've got a large facility in Toronto, Ontario.. that i can use to grow some herbs, I'm primarily looking for patients that have a GPD ( Grams per day ) of 5 or higher.

send me a msg, and we can perhaps work out some lucrative offer that works out for both of us :)

Happy Designated grower hunting!
Hey I have a licence of 60g/day and my wife has 80g/day....

I’m looking for a proper grower, with a real facility
