Just about to start cloning with gel and a starting propagator, contemplating rock wool cubes or rapid rooters, any exp with either of these?just under the 'skin' is a layer called the cambium
its from here the rootlets form
its also why gardeners cut their stems at 45 degrees
to expose as much of the cambium as they can
the cambium is easily infected thats why you gotta see this as a sterile situation
many noobs like to feed their cuts, a mistake waiting for the bacterial infection to start
simply smear household honey onto your cuts and insert to ur bubble cloner of medium
good luck
i use a every board to sand the stems so lightleyI recently tested a theory I picked up somewhere and found it very effective. Scrape outer layer of the stems of clones after about 2-3 days in the cloner. Taking off the skin where you want roots seems to delay root production but when roots do show they show up big time.
Everyone may already know this but it's new to me after 15 years of learning. This is the most useful technique I've picked up in a while. - Cheers
Mickey... What did you want to see? One of my links?Linki no worke. I'm new to the site so I might be doing something wrong. Would like to see it

Is anyone on this forum active right now that cut clones successfully??

Sure, I've done hundreds of cuts in the last few months at least a thousand over the years. I'm working on a order for a warehouse of a few hundred clones. Is anyone on this forum active right now that cut clones successfully??
Agree with all your numbered points. None of which conflict with this idea. Not really seeing anything in your response that has anything to do with the idea but the obvious points about clones and and then that you aren't going to try it and/or are not doing it currently.Sure, I've done hundreds of cuts in the last few months at least a thousand over the years. Important factors, no particular order.
1) Get the best cut from the plant.. Actively growing healthy and I prefer top cuts.
2) Sterility.. Use a clean tray, clean water, clean hands, disinfectants in the water help.
3) Proper environment thats consistent. proper heat, humidity, air content in the media, PH. All important. Ventilate every day.
4) Cannabis does not need a rooting hormone, but it speeds up the process. IBA with NAA or Just IBA. They do react differently.
5) Different cultivars of cannabis can root easy or can be hard to root.
If you think stem scraping works, or angle cuts go for it. I just think its a little piece of the big picture.. no stem scraping here.

Im not against it, I've done it in the past, I didn't think it was a factor in clone speed or success. If you don't want to try it. Don't.
