blue dream is a sativa dom,,so that is why it may not have the punch your after,,sativa is great daytime weed bud i feel the indica or indica dominant hybrids can get the better knockdown,knockout punch power..ive been having bad luck popping seeds lately,,maybe 50% pop and come up well...then seems like 1 out of 5 of those are good mothers w/ the production,crystalization, and high im after..most seeds are only 3 years old and all wer kept w/ silica in a seed fridge,,,just bad luck i guess?? never before have i had less than 95% success in germination,, and normally got 4-5 killer moms in every 10 pack,,.. guess seeds are not what they wer back in the late 90's..
Yeah I'm comparing the HSO BD to others I have running which includes a couple of sat-dom daytime smoke, energetic etc. but they have a much stronger head stone. Who knows could be the pheno and since I can't get the clone/original I have no comparison to that one.
Yea it had that special taste it was so remarkable that once you had it you want it again so badly, I loved that flavor it was so loud and distinct , there really is nothing else like it.

Sucks on the germ rates you're experiencing. I've had better luck with my own seeds and found that pheno hunting commercial regs is no different than my own crosses, more fun, and cheaper
I personally haven't experienced any issues with hybrid crosses with Blueberry, found a couple of killer phenos in my F2's crossed with Blueberry x JTR a few months back. Haven't smoked anything like those for years, but it took a while to hunt through many so-so phenos. Those have everything I was looking for, punch, ok/mid-level production and almost perfume smell/taste of Blueberry. Key to that cross imo was finding a male that stinks up my tent as if I were flowering a female.
Yeah, HSO BD = got good yields but lacked dankness.
Yeah that's the thing with S1's, there's no guarantee, pop enough and you should find something close but it's not like clones. The more stable and true breeding the original is, the more likely you'll get something close. But trying to self poly's you may as well play the lottery. I tried a couple and wasn't pleased with the outcome either so I stick to regs until I have a very stable/true BX or F10+. I prefer to cross and back cross to try and replicate or get close to the original. Takes a lot longer but then you can also find some gems. Right now I've pulled 2x killer phenos of my Blue Ripper in the F2's, just back-crossed one to the F1 male that produced the F2's and will see what I can find in there.
GOOD LUCK WITH THAT CROSS..i used to take the best male n female from packs of ten seeds to bx and stabilize,, but recently ive stopped,, so much work...i have too many seeds already, but u know how it is,,always wanting more..
Cheers, have another pheno which is almost identical, terps aren't quite as loud but it's just as strong and a 53 day finisher like the other. That one just went into flowering so will be hit when it's ready just to hedge my bets. Agreed it's a lot of work and time, then sometimes you just chuck something random and find a killer pheno right off the bat!
