yep, that is what your government has led you to believe. The reality of it is that the japanese can make a better quality vehicle for less. Not to mention soaring oil prices. End of story.

People need vehicles, but they just arent buying american made anymore because they can get a cheaper BETTER vehicle buying japanese.
Unions are killing the American auto industry. Fact.

Toyotas are excellent vehicles. Fact.

Chevys are excellent vehicles. Fact.

My grandpa worked for GM for 30+ years... he's got KILLER KILLER benefits.. I can see easily how it would be a BIG problem when you figure how many people are getting those benefits..

That's bullshit. At one time I was in a field of work where I drove a van.....a lot. Ford and Dodges had the best vehicles, best drive trains, etc. The one guy I knew who had a Chevy had 3 transmitions before I had to replace my starter.

I was a chevy guy for 40 years, they started making crap in the 80s and continued untill now. I now have a dodge hemi pickup, A great vehicle, fast and fully loaded down with 6 people and all the luggage etc, gets 19MPG on the highway. We don't talk about around town.

But many aren't really free to decide, is my point, being pushed off into the drudgery of factory work, making enough to pay bills and eat a little and that's it.It sure is easy to say...just go do better for yourself, then.It doesn't work that way.Low paying jobs are there because the rich certainly don't want to do them.People in this country are working hard to feed a family on 20k a year. They're afraid to try to find something better...they can't...many good jobs are in larger cities. After working their overtime, taking care of home matters, and getting a little sleep, they do it all over again. Can't afford to move on or move up.They need what security they have.Living hand to mouth, praying noone gets sick.
Having liberty means reaping what you sow, for better or for worse. When one is free to decide ones outcome, fate is often two sided. The ability to choose means that nothing is set in stone. Unless of course you're into Calvinism. Then you're right.;)

I always liked the saying, "You vote with your feet." If you don't like where you're at, move. (figuratively or literally)

better watch out stoney,, that kind of talk will get you shunned around here,, and not by me this time ;)

i will admit that the unions have gone too far. they are making it too difficult for a business to operate efficiently. There was a time when the union was good. when they protected the common man.... but greed kicked it and everything went to shit... so yes, unions are a part of the problem,, they dont have unions in Japan or in any of the japanese plants around here,, but then again they dont need them because they treat thier employees properly.

some pics i find quite suiting for the topic at hand

this is what vi, and ccodiane want. they want you to shut the hell up because they are sacred of what we have to say. they are scared that people might start listening.

it may be weak but it is one of the many factors leading to the problem... as well as gas prices... poverty... better and cheaper foreign vehicles...

Bullshit. Only 12 percent of the work force is Union and in Right To Work states like Texas they have no power. And the biggest percentage are Gov't jobs and take it from me they have NO POWER. Also, Black men are more likely to be Union than any other ethnicity.

Come on Chuckle Nuts, get educated; Union Members Summary

Or how AMR who owns American Airlines told the Unions that they needed to take benefit and wage cuts a few years ago so the Unions agreed. So a couple of days later it was learned that the 40 top execs at the company were going to get big bonuses for getting the Unions to agree. They were busted for doing what Corporations do, which is to fuck over their workers and pay the higher ups for doing it.

i dont live in texas, and i sure as shit don't live in the U.S. I know whats going on here and unions are destroying the work force where they are not needed. Some times they are needed,, but the old boys who worked for GM never needed a union until they started outsourcing labour to mexico. Don't worry about those boys anyway, they are sitting pretty with a nice pension that their UNION DEMANDED and thus GM is paying out the ass to let non-working people live comfortably.

you dont know what the fuck you are talking about and you should run along,, this is big boy talk

I think its pretty evident you have dug a hole and are now resorting to attacks. A classic Conservative ploy. Along with the Union bashing by the way,

Now here is a little lesson for you Chuckle Nuts, There is this little airline in Chicago called United Airlines. Ever heard of them? Well four years ago they stopped paying pensions. They said they were broke and couldn't afford it. Now even if you have a pension with a company that could be taken away if the company decids they can't pony up what they said they would provide. So there you are Chuckles, another reason why Unions weak.

I'm not conservative, and in fact i follow NO party, i have MY OWN opinions.
And we wouldnt need unions if the government would do a better job at protecting us, which is why we give them so much of our hard earned dollars.

Now here is a little lesson for you Chuckle Nuts
so wait, i am the one resorting to attacks? thats weak and you sound like you have the mentality of an 8 year old at best :finger:

my country gives me a pension, i dont need my employer to shell out bucks for me not working. thats why i give money to the government everyday dipshit
