Will only be used for flowering
Thinking of using these COBs with a meanwell driver.

How many would be enough to flower 4 plants in a 4x4?
Which will give me more light ?:
a.) Two of these 100w ebay COBs wired in series
b.) one name brand 100w COB ?
Stop please wait and get all good quality cobs. Cree, citizen, vero like @HydoDan said cobkits has good stuff there you can grab som citizen 1212's and be better than those eBay specials. You'll be happier.

It is a hobby but generally they do better than MOST prebuilt lights. They may have the drivers to push the lights but they stay on the safe side and don't push them to their fullest potential. I am usually way cheaper than a prebuilt, but it's all up to the end user.

Have seen some really nice rigs advertised on this forum but I dont need my light to impress anyone but my plants. Will probably use two old heat sinks from a mac pro tower, a big heat sink salvaged from an old home stereo amp & possibly house the drivers in an old gutted DVR box.

Please for the love of growing dont buy cheap Epiwatever COBs.
If your going cheap get some Citi from @CobKits
For optimal growth 50w a SQ/f, yield will be great if you know what your doing.
900 + PPFD is what your after.

Whats your budget?
Personally I would go with either Citi or Vero29 at 2.1A with MeanWell or Brightstar drivers.
If you got a little more money you can go with 1.4 or 1.05A but with more COBS for better efficiency. However for me I prefer 2.1A for flower or 1.4A for Veg/ seedlings.

If you need more specific help PM me.

Man those are definitely not DIY... I don't think I could sneak one those by my wife let alone two... I hope to see
them when they arrive..the ppfd looks incredible... is it programmable? Or like a WiFi remote?
Nothing like a new light!!

You can use your phone and control it as long as they're both on the same network. My wife just told me to buy what I wanted your not building lights anymore. They're in stock so hopefully they'll be here buy next week, these should be insane. They weigh almost 40 lbs a piece I'm excited to see what they can do!
