Germinating in water

Hello, It's 2 days that I've putted the seed int he glass of water. But I don't see the tiny white root, the seed is only little opened. It's time to put into soil or not?

You should not soak seeds for more than 24 hours. They need air to germinate.

Take em out and put in moist papertowel and wait a couple days. Goes quicker and faster, then plant.

You probably just killed the seed by having it in the water for 2 days. You could try putting it in some soil to wait and see.

Killed? But it's a germinating method to put the seed in the water..

i find the best way to germ is with water, paper towel, and seeds.

soak paper towel(not dripping wet though), place seeds in paper towel, should be germin in about 2 or 3 days. sometimes sooner

and yes you can germ in a cup of water as well. usually takes 2 or 3 days. anything longer and chances are the seed wont pop open or the root wont come out.

No it's not.

If you use the paper towel method then soaking is optional (IMHO). If you want to plant the seed directly into rockwool or a rapid rooter plug, then it's a good idea to soak the seeds overnight or for up to 24 hours. Soak the seeds any longer than that and you risk killing them.

I have never tried it. Have you actually done that or did you just "read it somewhere"?

ive done it and read it. seeds will pop open in as little as 24 hrs.

yes-paper towel method works just fine but also works the water glass method and it wont kill the seed(takes3 days to pop the root tip)

if i germinate in a glass of water I put them in soil whenever they sink

dude here's what i did i used a soda cup with the wax coating and it took them 1 or 2 week before they sprouted and one of the sprouts was 1/2 inch and is now my biggest plant =]]]] and prettiest now i'm trying a prescription pill bottle if that don't work i'm gunna put them back in the soda cup and it was weird cuz it grew this stuff around it and that's what feed it and then i took the stuff off and then i think it was the next morning they sprouted
