This is my first DWC grow, I've done Flood to Drain and Drip Systems before so this is a new journey for me and I hope to have great success my first round! I'm growing Big Bud Strain and looking to get some heavy yields and excellent quality medicine in return. Tips and advice are always welcome! Thanks! I look forward to sharing my experience with you. I wish I documented earlier pics but I didn't. So I'm now at about 5 weeks in Veg. More Pics soon!

Thanks! Had a calcium deficiency a few weeks ago I corrected thanks to the help of Loftygoals, I'm still worried about water temps though since I'm currently unable to run a chiller. Just have no space for it in the little closet. I also may have gotten in over my head with the whole arrangement haa, Not gonna be able to get to the control rez very easily if the plants get crazy on me! I want to utilize the center area where most of the light is penetrating, probably should have went with 2 smaller lights that cover each grow site but I'm just going for it! I'm still debating on running a trellis or just free-for-alling it and maybe using yoyo's that way I have more versatility. Any thoughts would help ;]

I'm running 10 airstones total, the big coke can ones, 2 in the rez and 4 in each container running on 3 ActiveAqua pumps. Which are quiet enough so I can sleep at night, the ladies are in my room lol. Oh and I'm running a Danner Supreme Pondmaster inline pump, Mag 7 I believe, overkill but hey, the more flow the better right!!!

Yeah the high temps here in South Florida are not conducive to hydro...at least not for me. I may someday try it. I used to run reef tanks with chillers. I'm just maxxed out with my electrical system at the moment.with 2 window a/c's and 3600 watts of light. I think I'll stick with soil for awhile, but I'm very interested to see how it goes for you.

Today is the first day of Week 6 of Veg. I did a Res Change and I'm going to go ahead and transition to bloom. I was going to veg 8 weeks and run a trellis but decided not to due to accessibility to the control res and not being able to life the planter lids. I'm going to take cuttings next Monday a week from now from the girthy pheno and rethink things for the next grow. I may just go ahead and redesign my closet to take more advantage of the light footprint and overall ergonomics of the room because it's a biatch right now, def should have gone with a shorter control res. Other than that, the plants are looking super healthy and I couldn't ask for anything more! Hopefully we can sail right through flowering with flying colors :bigjoint:


When I'm doing my reservoir change I fill another bucket to about an inch above the bottom of net pots with pure RO water and 1tsp/gal of H202 and let the roots soak in that while I'm cleaning out the grow module it goes in. I feel like this gives them a good cleanse/flush before going back into the fresh system. Does anyone else do this?

6 more days and they will be :bigjoint: I did some more stretching out on the smaller one, I think I'm going to go ahead and lay down two separate trellis nets to get them stretched out and as low as I can and give these big buds I'm so highly anticipating some support! I've only used the Veg spectrum so far, going to switch to full spectrum veg and bloom all the way through flowering and maybe just bloom the last few weeks of ripening. I'm really pissed at myself for rushing the design and not being able to use the center. Guess you live and you learn, I'll make it work! I'm just avid about cleaning out the system really good!

I currently have a window unit AC installed in a window right next to my closet, do you think I'm bringing in enough co2 from outside to be sufficient? I would love to get a meter from c02meter.com just haven't broke down and purchased one yet. I think I'll be ok without c02 for now although I know it would help pack on more density!

Has anyone used the mushroom C02 bags? And do they emit enough C02 to be worth it?

Just built a trellis last night, It's about 12in from the base of the plants. I'm thinking about going a few inches lower, any suggestions? Plants are in sleep mode, thus the drooping :sleep:

Anyone have any ideas on what may be causing my new growth to yellow a little on the edges and leaf tips, only a few tops have this, just want to make sure I'm on top of things! PPM's are 750 and 250 of that is calmag, also have equal parts GH micro, grow, and bloom, a little rapid start and a very small amount of superthrive. Not sure what kind of deficiency this is, or if it's the beginning of over fertilizing? Any thoughts? Last time it was a cal mag issue but the leaves had nasty copper looking spots.

Any clue? Thoughts? The yellowing is all starting from the inside of the leaves outs. Only a few tops have been effected on my larger pheno. The other plant is in perfect health, no leaf issues at all! I thought it maybe some sort of micro nute deficiency like Manganese, Iron or something, not sure. The LED light definitely makes it easier to see, then looking at it in natural light.

imo add some cal/mag supplement, i'd recommend general hydroponics calimagic works great for rdwc hydroponics.

Still having these issues, it's weird because it seems like only one half of the plant is being effected, right in the area where more of the red spectrum is hitting from the light, I just turned on the bloom switch since It's the first week of flower, the light was around 18in away but I moved it to 24 because it seems like it's affecting the leaves. Getting some weird light brown spots in a few fan leaves too, it's like the leaves were secreting some sort of liquid and then the necrotic spot was the aftermath. Anyone ever seen this? And any ideas on what to do? I definitely want to be back in full health for flowering! Getting a little frustrated since the really nice bushy pheno is the one being affected! The other plant ironically the smaller one seems to be doing fine. PH is 6.0, starting to slowly take it down to 5.8, my meter has been double calibrated so I know it's not the ph. and PPM is now at about 480. It got up to 750 and I felt like I was over fertilizing them, they were drinking more water than nutrients seemed like. just can't quite get it dialed in. Hopefully things take a turn soon!

Looks like you are over feeding and now locking out calcium from too much cal mag. 150 ppm is better if you even need it. It is in your base nutes too.

Yea, I was thinking it was some sort of lock-out! Gonna flush out with some clearex for a few hours then put back in a mild dose of nutes, lower the cal mag a little and see what happens. They def need a little more than what's in the base, because I left it out at first and they showed a deficiency, I will just keep a low dose this time! Thanks! I appreciate it.
