Tiny Little Budlets

So, I've got what I think is a sativa-dominant hybrid in a 5-gallon pot in Northern California, and I'm rounding the corner toward harvest (est.14–21 days). Colas are well developed.



My question is, what about the tiny little growths below the main cola, with each node boasting a tiny flower less than an inch across?



Should I trim this growth up to the base of the big, topmost flower -- so that the plant doesn't waste resources on things that will be more trouble to trim than they're worth -- or leave them alone and just make them into shake later?

Your thoughts?

Some people will say go ahead and trim it off others will say NEVER! Honestly it comes down to experience with the plant. I would personally let it be, I know it can be hard!

IMO it would cause more harm than good. If she didn't need it she would shed it herself. I use all the fluff/smaller buds to smoke while the rest is curing or throw in with the trim towards butter.

Smoke while curing sounds like a good strategy.

Throw them into the jars aswell. They will become tight little balls. I treat all my popcorn buds like the main coal. They will reward you.

Some strains ripen from the top. At this point of development you might consider letting the lower bud stay on the plant longer than the top bud and harvesting it later if you can. After the very top buds are taken, maybe the auxin god will bless the mid and lower buds and you can harvest as they hit peak maturity.

Also, I'd pinch the dead stuff off, to prevent mold from getting a toehold. Good luck.
