so the pics i took arnt the best, i was hoping they were more clear. heres what i got, i thought this was powdery meildew and went to the hydro store and some stuff to spray on it, its very similar to baking soda that people on here recommend. now my plants are getting very crystally from the top and working its way down. ive sprayed the palnts twice now and it has slowed it down a lot. i have also removed leaves with this. the leaf i cut off last nite that is in the pic... i tried to wipe it clean and it would come off. so im thinking maybe they are crystals forming. ???

what do you guys think? i left one leaf on one of my girls to see if it increase or starts to make crystals. I would great appreicate some help.

Thanks :wall:

That is definately false mildew or powdery mildew. They have lots of sprays you can use that will help you keep that problem at bay. I myself use a product called mildew cure that has garlic, cotton seed oil, and sodium bicarbonate and I add hydrogen peroxide. You can use organic milk too but make sure it is nonpasteurized at 1 part milk to 10 parts water. There are sulphur based sprays that work well too. Just stay away from stuff called Serenade that stench is extremely difficult to get out especially if it is in your buds. This year for some reason there are a lot of false mildew spores in the air in previous years never had a problem with it. It usually comes about when the humidity fluctuates too much and remains high and temperatures are low. Maybe in my case I have to place another filter for my intake system to see if can block out the spores better. I hope you resolve your problem.

keep your area dry and plenty of fans going. you should be ok. mildew will linger forever so you have to keep a close eye out. it tends to come back. you caught it early and have a counter-attack going. you should be ok now. :)

do not pull of the leaves unless they are dead. you can use hydrogen peroxide to kill powdery mildew. just put it in a spray bottle and mist lightly. i will burn your plants so you can thin it with water. i use this during the final days of flowering. it evaporates quickly so i think it's safe. try it on a small test spot before spraying the whole garden.

when you do it, how much hydro peroxide do you use... 1 tbsp or 1 tsp. i just dont want to over do it. do you recommend that i spray only the affected leaves or the whole plant... that after i do a test or so.

i use straight peroxide. i just pour the whole bottle in a spray bottle. but like i said it burns so maybe start out 50/50. i only spray the areas where i see the mildew. i try to only spray the mildew itself.

gotcha.. thanks for clearing that up. i greatly appreciate it. i have a fresh bottle at home. ill do a test tomorrow morning when the lights go out.

one last question... do you only apply it once or do you a apply a couple of times?

I have had problems getting my humidity up to the perfect range in my flowering room. Now I am feeling like it is a blessing in disguise. Staying at the bottom end of the ideal humidity range seems like a pretty good idea.

one misting kills it dead. it will turn brownish. but like i said it does like to come back. it seems to get "inside" the plant or something.
