I dont know the science behind it but that has been my observation. When i first started all my seedlings did this and i thought it was normal but i kept reading and looking stuff up. I noticed when i added enough perlite to the mix the seedling stem would stay green and grow way faster

No nutrients until they are 2 weeks old, they come with all the nutrients they need for the beginning of their life. Definitely get a blue CFL and keep it nice and close so they don't stretch. I just went through my first grow man i freaked out like you so don't trip you are doing fine. Unfortunately there is just nothing you can do but wait for the first 2-3 weeks of starting from seed. don't worry, you'll have plenty of time to manipulate them - but that's not now. Definitely make sure those cups have plenty of holes cut out. Then when you think you know better and give them nutes anyway - don't. Wait.

Nice. But that's MG? I've heard to never use it with cannabis. Time-released nutes are supposed to be no good

seedlings don't need to be fed at all till the coty leaves fall off, if you put them in amended soil to begin with, they're being overfed. i like to start in a little coco with some perlite, let them grow some roots in a neutral medium, then when they need to be fed you can transplant them into your amended soil and not have to feed them for at least a month

the red is actually caused by phosphorous deficiencies, but phosphorous deficiencies can be caused by overwatering...

I start mines with whatever organic potting soil they have at my local hardware store, usually 'Espoma' and my seedlings dont get nute burn, ill use plain tap water for a couple of weeks and switch to jacks as soon as they start lightening up. what you do need is a real light cuz that stuff you got up there is just keeping it in veg mode and nothing else

If sprouting in large pots you may not have to water for 2-3 weeks.
This was started in a 15 inch pot that holds five gallons. See how dry the soil looks? Its not. I can stick a moisture meter down in the soil and its moist. Don't judge by look. Pick the pot up. If its heavy don't water.
You can sprout to large pots but its tricky. Just don't water for a while.
