What type of current rdwc system did you recently setup? I built a diy undercurrent system, based of cch2o. I've never ran any other type of rdwc system though. I guess they are all rdwc's if they are simply recirculating the nutrients. I started with 5 gal round buckets and now have square 8 gal. Are you going to buy a cch2o system, or build your own? It can take a minute to build a complete system w/ chiller, epicenter, and top off rez, but once it's all setup, it's pretty much autopilot. I have a 6 site in a 4x8 tent with the epicenter on the outside so it's easy to drain/fill/add with a top off rez feeding the system so it stays at the same water level at all times, and hooked up to a bl guardian for ec/ph/temp. I probably should have just bought the kit from cch2o after all the pain and anguish, lol.
How many sites / what size system are you looking at? They grow super quick once those roots hit the water and can get big quick, so not a super long veg time I've noticed. I pretty much change out the water once a week and that's it. I check to make sure they are feeding and there are no crazy ph swings, that's about it. If you want it to be pretty much no touch, it takes a few items and some mechanical ability. I don't see any specific downfalls of undercurrent vs rdwc.
Newer build w/ the 8 gal buckets
