New Video Reveals Sacramento, Calif., Police Tried To Run Over Black Man Before Fatally Shooting Him

The disturbing incident—even condemned by one of the officer’s brothers—was apparently even worse than initially thought, as departmental video shows that the officers tried to run Joseph Mann over twice.

According to recently released dash-cam video from a July altercation, two Sacramento, Calif., police officers attempted to run over an African-American homeless man—twice—before they shot and killed him in a hail of bullets.

The Sacramento Bee reports that one of the officers says “f–k this guy” in the final minute before they shot Joseph Mann. Moments later, the driver says, “I’m going to hit him.”

“OK. Go for it. Go for it,” his partner responds.

The Bee reports that Officers Randy Lozoya and John Tennis gunned their vehicle toward Mann during the July 11 incident, backed up, turned and then drove toward him again, based on dashcam video released by police. They stopped the car, ran toward Mann on foot and shot him 14 times. He was obviously running away from them.

After a private citizen gave news outlets video from the incident, police released dashcam video on Sept. 20 and called a news conference that day.

The Sacramento News And Review that the videos seem to contradict the department’s initial statement that its officers resorted to lethal force only after de-escalation tactics failed.

Lozoya and Tennis are currently on “modified duty,” according to a police spokesman.

Dispatchers told officers that Mann was seen with a knife and a gun. Police have never reported finding a gun.

They never tried to run him over for fucks sake. Perhaps you wanted them to put their blinker on for 5 seconds before moving the vehicle?

Would he still have been shot if he had obeyed police commands? Or maybe if he wasn't breaking the law?

Either way, he's dead, fuck him.

Yes I did, Driving is something I do well. At no time in the video was there even a remote chance that car will or could hit the suspect. In fact, the driver is told to watch the curb.

Again Put the time, and say where you think the turning radius of that Ford could be used to run that suspect over. All you gotta do is put up the time on the video.
He was too close to the car.

Well maybe you can put up the time on the video where you think they had a chance with that Explorer. Out in a field or parking lot you`ll get someone if you are good enough, Not on the city streets, not in a hundred years. That dude, just like I have, knows how to get away from a police car. Kat was talking doo-doo again and making it look like it was a clear attempt.

I watched it. The dude started running to keep from getting hit by the police car. It's pretty obvious. Too bad for him they were unsuccessful at running him over. He'd be fucked up but probably still alive.

Never ran before did you ?

The dude started his escape as he saw back-up coming. He stepped into the street, if he stayed in the corner, he would have been cut off by the car. Once in the middle of the street, when the car made the corner, he`s able to out turn it and go right by it. Then stops because of the fencing. If he continued down the street the car would catch him, Wait for it to turn around and jet across the split street is the smart play for him, Which he did.
There is no way possible to run him over with the car when he sees it.

You can think what you want. I know he ran in fear of being shot with his hands up don`t shoot. I know he was a stand up citizen. I know it was not his fault and he had to run. I know Blacks don`t act out their claimed Gansta rap behavior. I know for sure that Blacks freely admit they got issues within their own and have been relentlessly trying to solve the problem, You can see examples of it every hour in the Media.

I also know he had no chance of being run over by a Expedition in the city streets.
