here is my hps that i blew due to hot starting...the hydro guy was telling me about a soft start thingy....can i make one of these/do i need one?

here's a shot of my freshly ...end of the third week...s.o.g. pruned beauties ...16 of them staggered. i'm still workin out which mums the bees knees

wide shot of the flower room....big ones in day 24 of flower and the 2nd batch went in late due to cloner issues. you can see the carnage in the bottom of table 4.

i had to force myself to go back over them a second time to really take it off......it was painfull, but i'm over it. and i think i'll be happy when i see the results.

just an update for ya al.....all of it was thanks to your tutulage.

Hurts me to see all that plant matter in the bucket I know you must be so sad. Oh well lesson learned I always say. Now the top parts of the tall ones will start to fatten up and hopefully the clones will start growing out. Fingers crossed

DO you know the cause of the bulb burnout? How old was it?
hot starting due to power outages...fuckin hurricanes!!!:cuss:

hey bugs , do you run your cloner 24/7 or do you put it on a timer?
you have no idea how long it took me to get an answer to that question for myself....never!! i had to figure it out cause noone would help....so allow me.

i first ran it 24/7 and got 18 out of 30 to root in 9 days...but the second one took 17 days or so to only get 16, and some of them might not have had enough root mass to survive the transplant.
add toi that a massive amount of stem rot.....not due to temp or sterility issues or ph......over watering pure and simple.

so now i have it on a timer at 15/15 minutes, but my stupid ass had the timer set to "on" for the first 4 or 5 days so this batch wont be a true control either......dammit. so keep up with the journal in my signature for a real time, learn with me,.... play by play of the op in all its glory and mayhem,.:wall:

hope i answered you in there somewhere,,,i b londwidified:roll:

so my clones are doin good, looking great ...still no roots on day 7. i'll wait patiently cause they are pretty. (funny thing how apparently all types of girls make us do that.:cuss:)

but i was gone for 3 days and my tanks were not topped up with fresh h2o so the nutes shot up to between 15 and 1600ppm.

some are lost for sure i think i'm gonna lose 12 out of 18:-(:-(:wall::wall:

anyway here are some depressing pics to bum everyone out with.
fuckin full blown claw and browning ....ick

the first pic is one of the 6 that are still doing awesome...they were ther strong ones. the liluns burnt up like nobody's buisness:dunce:

fuckin 7000.00 investment and rising so far and i do this stupid shit.:dunce::wall::wall::wall:

Yea man just finished your thread and... damn. That's all I got haha... A friend of mine showed me that quote back when I first started growing and I've lived by it since. Just a bump in the road, continue to be optimistic my friend and you will be alright! Run of bad luck... You'll be in the clear before you know it. You're thread has really been an inspiration to me to get my own ass in gear. Thanks for the help!

So I just got done dealing with one hell of a fiasco. I guess the grow gods decided that I needed a little demise of my own to deal with. So today was the day I am supposed to change my reservoirs. Each reservoir holds 40 gallons of water. I let my water sit out for 24 hours in two 80 gallon heavy duty trashcans to evaporate all the chlorine out. I was nervous about the trashcans because they really stretched a lot, but they seemed to hold so I "like a dumb ass" ignored it. Being the day that my girls got fresh water, I emptied my reservoir. My trashcans have wheels so they seemed like something that would be easily mobile if I was careful. So again, "like a dumbass" I wheeled my trashcan toward my reservoir and got to almost the center of the room and the bottom of the 80 gallon trashcan sprung a mad leak. Not a little leak, a giant leak that was vastly growing by the second. I pushed with everything I had to get that thing to the bath tub, but only managed to save about 20 gallons... So there I sat in utter disbelief soaking wet planning my trip to wal-mart for a shop vac and a bunch of towels. (keep in mind my grow room is carpet) 3 Hours later I'm back to my old 20 gallon reservoirs. Replaced one of them with the water I managed to save, but the other I had to use water that was straight out of the faucet... hope I'll get away easy without the chlorine hurting my plants, but I cant let them go without water. I ran the pump right before I changed my reservoir, so I'll be good for about another 6 hours then I'll flood again... Ok I'm starting to ramble, I'm stoned. Ok so because of this experience I have a few questions for you. I noticed you said well I can't remember I think you said you had 20 - 25 gallon reservoirs for your trays. I'm using 4x4 trays with each of my reservoirs. If I switch to 20 gallon reservoirs all around will my 30+ plants per reservoir be adiquate enough feeding and watering for my plants over a weeks time until I change it out again. I need to invest in a PPM reader so I can top up halfway through the week, but I've never done that before so I'm nervous about fucking something up. I've always just replaced my reservoir every week with fresh nutes. Past experiences have led me to notice that the more plants I have the faster my water diminishes and sometimes ran dry. I really need to learn how to top up. You don't change yours out but every two weeks? Is that what those air stones help with? Do they keep your water fresher? How often do you have to add more water/nutes? Ok and I didn't want to forget to ask you what the hell do you use to hold you're water while you let it sit out? My trashcans are pretty much shit and I'm out of ideas. I was using my bathtub, but it doesn't hold nearly enough water for 4 reservoirs. Anyway, looking forward to hearing back. Take care and good luck with your endeavors bro!

most people I've read about change their nutes every 2 weeks. that's usually what I do, but I'm at about 3 weeks now. past due, but the plants are still doing well. at about this time, I always get some kind of white bubbly foam around the inside of the res. I'll take care of it tonight. the air stones are needed in the res's to keep plenty of oxygen in the water. it also helps keep the nutes stirred.

Do you talk like you type? DO you smoke weed or crack? LOL

BUgs hope you dont mind.

Sorry to hear about your trials and tribulations in your grow. It made me laugh thinking about the site of you realizing you were Moses and the great ark was not built yet. LOL . :wall: Dont forget this is a learning experience and all we have to do is not make the same mistakes twice.

If it makes you feel any better the hose i had attached to my water heater to get water into my room came off the fitting flooding my whole garage with 3 inches of water!!!!. Lesson make sure the fittings are tight!!!:wall:

I am sorry to have to tell you this but all that you just went though was pointless because you could have just filed your tanks with regular tap water and would be just fine. There is no need to filter, use RO let water sit or anything like it. I have used tap for almost 8 weeks now and never had a problem. If you dont believe me look at Al.B FUcts grow. I need not say more. :weed:

Yes you need a PPM meter but if your plants are growing and you change out your tanks every 2 weeks you can add plain water to top off with checking your PH and you should be just fine until your next change out.

I am running 20 gal tanks and have no problems. If your running dry and your tubs are not filling all the way then yea you need bigger tanks. If you can top off during the week no worries.

Ok Moses thats should help a little bit for now.

Just because AlB Fuct does not need filtered water does not mean that everyone else doesn't also. Where I live the water is almost toxic. I mean REAL TOXIC. I will not state what is in the water, if I did someone could at least guess what state I am in. Some places have great water, suitable for growing, showing, drinking, what ever. Where I live, I hate to even shower in the stuff. I remember when I first moved here, I moved into a brand new home. It was hotter then HELL outside. I took a glass from the shelf, ran the water until it got cold. Took a big drink of it and then with out even thinking I blew the water all over the wall. My wife was piss'd yelling at me and everything. I filled the glass and told here to drink it, she did with out even thinking. She did better, she blew the water into the sink.

If I am not willing to drink the water, I surely will not feed that water to plants that I am going to smoke.

As for moving large containers of water... DON"T!!!!! Place a large pump at the bottom with about 30' of hose and hook it up to a surge protecter, so you can turn the pump on and off. Also put a ball valve at the end so you can turn it on/off when ever you want. Works great for me.

Also for a 4'X4' tray you need to have a 40 gallon res or you will be combating PPM and PH issues.

AHHHH point taken! I should have been more thorough with my explanation. BUT if you researched it ( i am sure you have) as i am sure this gentlemen has, ABF states if you can drink it you can grow in it. On your case ewwww i can t imagine that. You cant drink it so i would imagine you dont grow in it becasue of it. I don't drink our water becasue of the taste as well but i do use it in cooking and such so its not all that bad.

AZTO. First off you should ask all your questions in your own thread. Now that being said, I use those plastic 55 gallon barrels with the lid still on it.. LOCKED in place. I used my skill saw to cut a hole about 8 inches square so I could lower my water pump to the bottom. I then just place a magizine over the hole. Walla, nice sturdy water container that I can have water anywhere within a 30 foot radius. I know use the to fill all my Aquarims, grow rooms, and also for my drinking water. Make sure the barrel is BLACK PLASTIC......

Also, You must not have thought very long... hehehehe.. Just kidding..
