A little help with temperatures please

Okay so I am just recently getting back into indoor growing and put my tent up today. Starting small for now so I went with a yaheetech 2x2x4 tent with a 150watt sunsystems hps. My ventilation is a 4 inch duct booster fan with passive intake. It's moving air nice but I don't have a real thermometer I'm using a digital humidity monitor that's shows low and high temps and keeping it shaded getting a high of somewhere around 88° . Think I'm getting a high reading from the thermometer on the humidity monitor? Do you think the temp will go down with the plants and containers in there? I feel like 88 isn't the true temp but I could be wrong.

You need to be sure of your temps!! 88f is a little warm.. not too hot but could cause heat stress.. get a different thermometer and check it.. use a ventilation fan if needed!! Best temps 78-83f!!

Ok good advice I want to install a few clip fans or something to help move air up. Maybe I should install a small inline fan that's rated a little higher than the boost fan?

Ok thanks for the reply , I didn't think the pots and plants would lower the temp but I read on riu where someone suggested it would so I wasn't sure

You're on the right track.. get everything dialed in as much as possible before you start to grow...

Thanks again , I'm definitely going to check it with any other thermometer and make certain my temps are around 80 or less before I put any plants in it.

Yepper that's the plan , I have a few started already but they are only a week old under t5 lighting so I figure I can get everything dialed in the next few days and have them in the tent before they are two weeks old

That's what I think I'm goin to do , this little $20 amazon duct fan I think is rated a little higher than a good pc fan so if I replace it with an inline fan I'm hoping will put me more around 80°

My current fan is an ipower 4 inch duct booster fan rates at 90cfm , with just that my temp was 88° .. Not too bad but not good enough. Anybody have a guess at how many cfm I'll need to get it down to 80°. I don't think I'll need anything too powerful it's only 2x2 grow tent. Average room temp in here where the tent lives is 73° but that will be down to around 65°as fall temps set in. I don't run the heat in my house any higher than 65° in winter.

Thank you. The carbon filter is still in the air. I don't have close neighbors so I think I'm going to vent it outside. If I do buy one it's gonna cost me a bit of money for a phresh because I used a cheapo from htgsupply years ago and it just didn't cut it. So hopefully venting strait outside will work for me

I'm not sure of your setup but.. You may be able to add another small fan to the same light...one pushing one pulling... hopefully a cooling expert will chime in!!

I found a inline fan on Amazon for cheap. Not familiar with the brand but has anyone used Urban Farmer? Half the price as other brands. It's rated at 200cfm so that would double my 90cfm duct fan

Awesome yeah that's true and it's a prime product. I can't believe I didn't notice it before I bought the duct booster fan cause this only cost $25!
