Obama is the man

You talking about FISA? And what's McCain's record on that? Oh yeah, he voted for it too. And unlike Obama, he didn't require any compromises to help protect the public interest, McCain would've voted for it regardless. If that's your hot button, protecting the 4th amendment, then Obama's your man, as the lesser of two evils. And you obviously would have preferred Clinton, since she voted against it.

That's one reason I might have preferred Clinton. But then she also voted for invading Iraq. Yeah, she was duped by the Republican Party with all their 'WMD evidence', but it's her job *not* to be duped, to insist on verifiable proof. FISA hasn't cost us two trillion dollars. Iraq either already has, or ultimately will.

As mistakes go, Obama's FISA mistake isn't in the same league as authorizing the invasion of Iraq. We can legislate FISA away, at little cost. But there's no legislating away the cost of the Iraq disaster.

Obama made it to where he is under his own steam, without relying on his parents' connections (they had none) or his wife's money (she had none).

He is smart, articulate, he knows how to bring out the best in people, and he has a history of seeking out people who disagree with him in order to help work out his positions.

The contrast between him and his opponent and the current incumbent couldn't be greater, IMHO.

The only downside to Obama is that he is not superman and it might take even him (with Democratic majorities in the house and senate) longer than eight years to clean up the disgusting mess the current incumbent leaves behind him.
Couldn't have said it better!

The election has already been lost by B. Hussien.
You people have smoked yourselves into a hallucinatory state of reality.

Elbarto: Give us an EXAMPLE of B.Husseins "history of seeking out people ..." and just WHAT "positions" they helped him "work out".
I'll be waiting.....

If the election is lost, it will be due to Diebold and the other voting machine Mfgrs. Certainly not because McSame is the better man.

Yes, certainly,of coarse...it's DIEBOLD!!
And it's been DIEBOLD that gave 8 out of the last 11 prez elections to Republicans, right?
You Lefties are in the minority. You are not "mainstream". You are not "America". History has proven what I've said.

OMG, he hasn't even lost yet and the conspiracy theories are already warming up.

If he wins, its all good and the system is vindicated.

If he loses, its all bad and the system has been hijacked.

What a benchmark.

Are you trying to say "lefties" are not good citizens? Are you trying to say only righties are mainstream? No, not the 8 out of 11, but they certainly helped on the last one and I'm afraid they will help on this one. If it is close, the repuke machine will tally the votes in favor of McPalin, no doubt here, they are the ruthless warmongering party, the party of the rich, the party of the owners of the society, How could they let the people upset their plans? I see nuclear meltdown if McPalin is elected, what see you?

Not that they get to vote, but by a 4 to 1 margin, the rest of the world would prefer Obama. And just because the rest of the world doesn't get to vote, that doesn't mean that what they think is irrelevant -- Obama would obviously be able to get more done on the world stage simply because he's more respected. McCain is viewed as basically another Bush, and rightly so. Palin is viewed as a science-hating religious extremist, also rightly so.

If you don't care about the poor in our own country, and if you don't care about how we are perceived by the rest of the world, and if you don't care about a Taliban-ish religious extremist VP one step away from the presidency, then McCain's likely your man. Plus McCain has lots of 'experience' getting us into unnecessary wars, whereas all Obama has to offer is the sound judgment not to do so.

What makes B. Hussien O'Bama great is that he will do to the country, what he has done to his "sure thing" campaign ... implode the whole freaking thing. People are coming to that realization now and that's why Sarah and the gang will take it in a landslide vis a vis Ronald Reagan ... 49 states!

Folks, we are witnessing a colossal fuck-up in action. If I were a democrat, especially a hard-left, progressive democrat, I'd be calling for O'Bama's head right now. I mean, Biden? Come on.

Medicine: I'm saying that a majority is mainstream; that a majority represents "America". N one except you brought up the "..not good citizens"dodge.

Bongulator: I care enough about the "poor" to have some of my tax $ pay for their healthcare (Medicare/Medicade), their welfare (SSI Disability), their food (Food stamps); their childrens education (SSI Death benefit). As I make more $ than you do I pay more towards those things than you do, so can we say that it is YOU who doesn't care about the poor because you give so much LESS than I do?

To transfere your idea that the "world" prefers Obama when the "world" you mention is just another group of Lefties in Europe who's brains are also addeled by pot is meaningless.

Dude ... PLEASE ... do your research. Check out how the federal (DEA) marijuana arrests increased expedientially under the Clinton administration's Justice Department. You'll be shocked.

Not at all. It was a completely random sampling of 22,500 people. They didn't cherry pick Obama supporters. It's just a fact that Obama is the choice of the world. That doesn't mean he's *our* choice, of course, just that the world would prefer him over another Bush. The survey included residents from more than 20 countries too, not just European countries. India, China, Japan, basically all of the industrialized nations, plus a few others.

I pay my taxes, don't complain, don't accept handouts from the government unless it's the difference between life and death. My mom did accept welfare and foodstamps, when my Republican dad wouldn't pay alimony or child support. If she hadn't she would have died sooner than she did, and I would have died before I was a teenager.

As an adult making my own decisions, I have never taken a government handout, of any kind. No rebate checks. No emergency room visits. No welfare or foodstamps. No Medicare or Medicaid. I served in the Army, volunteered for combat, got some medals and an honorable discharge. When I'm due for social security, I won't accept it. I'm a proponent of self-sufficiency. I don't need the government's help. I don't ask what this country can do for me. I ask what I can do for this country.
