Yes soil meter don't work in water bro...go get a cheap liquid test kit,one that uses the drops....just a few bucks.
Also you should only try to oh your water, them water plant and check runoff. Don't add ph up or down directly to soil....
No I added a dry fert top dressing then watered.
I had tested the PH before I added the fert. But the plant is having problems.
my plant that's in second phase of flower is getting dead curling tips on the leaves. It looked like the plant was eating itself (stored fats from ferting in the past) so,I did a PH test on it, and it was very alkine or basic @ 7.5 (the soil).
I then added the fert "Happy Frog 5-5-5" and got a PH reading of betweeene: 6.5 -7.0.( when I tested soil)
Then; I got courious, and decided to check the water dripping from the bottom of the container.
See, I figured that when I do a PH test on soil, i mix the soil with water then add the ph dye and transfer the solution to the test bottle.
So why wouldn't testing the drip water from the soil be any diffrent?
But I'm understanding that there are water "insoluble" nitrogen, phosphorus, and other things that don't mix with the water.
Now correct me if I'm wrong but is this why it's so hot because it's testing nothing but water insoluble run-off. All the edible nuits are mixed with water and stored in the soil for the plant to later eat.
