absolutely true, problem is most of us are in containers...
also one of the reasons why I LOVE comfrey and dandelion taproots in my compost as green inputs

not to mention cannabis rootballs, those are LOADED with nutrients, if I recall correctly, roots are 40x higher in nutrients than the surrounding soil.
