Indoor Grow Advice?

Hey everyone, I'm hoping to get some advice on my indoor grow setup.

Here is what I'm working with,

Light is Agrobrite T5 fluorescent grow lamp.
Soil is Foxfarm Ocean Forest mix.

Light specs: 216w, 4 64k bulbs, 20,000 lumens in total. light is 4' long and each bulb is 54w.


The plant is only about 5 days old so I'm not using any nutes in fear of burning it up, plus I have to be careful with this strain when it comes to nutes. I have everything set up in a small closet. closet is almost 5 feet in length and 3 feet in width. I have some pictures to take a look at here. Anyone have any advice to give?

Yes don't feed for the first two weeks aleast. Don't overwater. How far do you have the lights from the plants.

I've been watering it every 24 hours or when the soil is dry, and it's about 2 feet from the light. It puts out some heat so I didn't want to risk them getting burnt up

Yes t5 can get hot. You should be able to get the 6-8 inches above the plant with no problem. If your nervouse drop it down to a foot for now.what are your room temps

Two thoughts:
I'd get them as close to the light as possible to prevent stretching. A T5 isn't that hot. If you can hold your hand under it for 30 sec and not feel too hot, it's fine for the plants. I use a T5 to veg and some of my plants are 4" from the bulb.
If you can get hold of a small oscillating fan and set it up to lightly blow across the tops, it helps with heat, and works to strengthen the plants.

I have a small fan pointed towards the light itself for cooling, but it isn't oscillating. Some wind still gets to the plant. I'll definitely be moving it closer to the light though. I don't have anything to measure the temp, but I would say it's in the mid 70's because of the heat coming from the light. Thanks for your advice, by the way!
