my next experiment..chinese Cobs mixed with cxas

im gonna get a cheap ebay "1200W" cob led light. there pretty cheap at about 180 bucks.. 250W actual draw. to put along side my 2 cxas running at 100W's each.. to give the plants more of a full spectrum.

the cxa 3070's are 3000K and im planning on adding this to my tent. i should be at max wattage for my 3x2 tent at that point. 450W total draw from the leds. thats not including the 420nm/10K t5's i have as well.

i know they suck but its only to supplement my cxas

I'd suggest blues and reds to supplement over just more white, but it's your call brutha.

take that same $180 and spend in on some good osram or crees. im not gonna take issue with blurple (i use it) but dont buy crappy gear that wont last

im about to order some of cutters 660nm and 450nm linear pcbs and should have them statside in the next few weeks

They got some vids on YouTube using those Chinese COB's. Even a tear down. Interesting stuff.

Oh ya it is. Some Chinese cobs are still white.

what cheap blurple style light can i get for around 200 bucks? .. needs to be 100 plus actual watts though..ive been looking around.. and yes i know i could build my own panel but im way to lazy to try to find all the materials to build it. Id have to order everything online.. i cant even buy shrink tubing and solder where i live..

besides if the cheap asian chips blow on the thing could I not just install a cree version of the same thing.. even if i had to switch drivers out?
