Anyone done this?

I filled a one gallon pot that has no drain holes with clean perlite. Then I put in water ph'd at 6.0 that has gh flora series in it and a 2" air stone with pump. Anyone done anything like this? What were your results? My plant will grow in it right? The perlite doesn't float or get disrupted by the air stone btw I just see bubbles at the surface. I just transplanted into this 3 days ago and she looks fine so far. I'll be changing the water every like 7 days. I need to change the water out right? Or could I just fill it up a little more every time the water level lowers and not worry about changing it?

perlite normally you get issues with light and algae

no light can get to the wet perlite rite ?

I`d just treat it like a dwc

I used to run 2 storage tubs filled with clay pebbles with 2 x 15L pots inside them with airstones in them the plants would go into that bit that had no clay pebbles

but the clay pebbles made the tubs lighter and added some more air I guess

worked out

I`d just go dwc or undercurrent dwc, best thing about normal dwc is the only thing that can break on you is the airpump when you start pumping water around all kinds of things can go wrong

but recirculating and undercurrent dwc`s seem to work better

I was tempted to do a set up that pumps a foam into a bucket that the roots sit in

just wetting agent in a water butt with a nute mix and an airstone to make it foam then pipe the foam into the buckets

Should work but never actually tried growing plants in a soapy nute foam lol

Very interesting thank you for all the info! So do you think id get better results if I just did hempy? Also no, no light can get to the perlite I have it covered with cardboard forgot to mention that.

you`d probably do better with a hempy or dwc instead

that air moving that perlite around could cause some rootzone damage and you`ll be cleaning the perlite or changing it every res change, may as well go coco if your going to deal with substrain

best thing about hydro set ups is no old coco or soil to worry about everything can just go down the sink so once your using a substrate you start thinking... hmm I may as well be doing coco or soil

I mean areo and hydro can yield more and be faster but it can have problems main upside to me has anyways been no soil or coco to keep around or get rid of just need a tap and can grow as many as you want

but technical problems and root rot is why I don`t do hydro unless its a grow I can be around a lot to keep everything running right

Changing the water and keeping the plant standing when it gets big and starts to bud should be fun.
hang on everyone that grows weed has to tie the plant branches to the ceiling because the buds are so big they would shatter the earth if allowed to hit the ground right ?

that was the worse thing about hydro, 1" or 2" net pots the plants just fall over and light gets into the res too even 6" and 8" net pots can still fall over

it`s a pain I hate supporting and tying up plants, I mean I use Triacontanol so I can do less training, supporting plants is more boring than removing old leaves or cleaning the grow area, lol
