Should I get a 300 watt or 600

Hey guys I am getting a mars hydro led.
They have the 300 watt, its 80 dollars but the 600 watt is 160. That's only 80 bucks more.

I only grow one auto flower at time so do you guys think 600 watts would be too much light for a little plant?
I know some of you guys are gonna say don't buy it because it's so cheap and because it's made in china.

I've seen so many videos and read so much about the mars hydro and every single video ppl had no problems at all with them. What do you guys think?

one auto at a time,I'd smoke that in a day,how r you able to stay supplied growing a single auto?

for an extra $80 for double the led I'd go with the 600,your paying the electric & its your time but why not do 3 or 4 little autos under the 600 at one time instead is a single ?

at best the 300w one only uses 100 to 150w

the 600w one may use 300w or a bit more

If its your only light I would look at some better options even 3000k cob leds can do better than most of them cheaper led units

but I get them sometimes as they are cheap

by cheap I mean £100 for a 1000w or 1200w or 2000w unit, they only consume like 400w to 800w normally once you check the real data, but handy for saving time

as it can take time to build your own led light, so spending £100 on parts sounds cheap but then a day or 3 to make the light and then maybe it don`t work right away

always best to have one or 2 lights you know work well

I think with the right strain 300w consumption of led is about right, I`ve seen people use a 300w of led to grow a single auto over 300g so that`s worth it

I`d grow at least 3 auto`s and pick the big one finish that one

as a lot of them have a tendency to stop growing around 1 in 3 seems to get to a good size, but I`m talking about indica dom autos I keep meaning to try some sativa dom ones to see if they all get bigger or if they also have problems with getting dwarf plants

you can grow perfectly fine using a 300w with an actual of 150-180w. there are plenty of growers around here that can yield one plant quite fat under one LED. i say give it a shot. and yea red and blue works fine. make sure you're using reputable genetics though. critical auto, ultimate auto, sour diesel auto.

good luck

600 watt... I bought a 180 watt ufo and man im kicking myself in the ass now.. I got mine for a steal though 62$ and it will do 1 auto just fine but I wish I would have splurged and got a 600 watt mars hydro.

Heres some autos that ive grown or seen grown that are amazing.

Sensi Seeds sensi skunk auto
Auto Seeds Transiberian (Im growing that now)
Nirvana Auto Jock Horror
Nirvana Auto Bubbleicious
World Of Seeds big bud x northern lights auto
Anything Memphisto Genetics auto
barneys farm blue dream or blue cheese auto

Cheers.. I'm saving up money now and I'm either gonna buy a ready built COB light or a mars 600.

with that 600 you could stick 1 auto in a 5 gallon bucket and prob get 3 oz's.. Its all about having those first 21 days be perfect.

IMO with autos you actually want the most growth width and height you can get in 21-28 days before she flowers.

with my light atleast it takes me 2 more months for a photo strain and all I got was an extra 1/2 oz.. thats not worth it to me.

I am vegging a nirvana blue mystic photo under cfls next to my transiberian auto right now so the second the auto is done ill flip lights to 12/12 and finish the blue mystic ole lady up.

Of your going led, spend the money and get a cob led or otherwise stick to hid
I kinda agree but not all the way... I was super poor and with 180 watt ufo led and 2 cfl's I got 1 oz dry in a 2 gallon soil container. I dont smoke a ton so for me being able to grow an oz or 2 ever 3 months is perfection. I can do it dirt cheap and get rock hard nugs too... sure the nugs arent gigantic but they smell and taste fantastic.

all i use is fox farm ocean forest soil cause it vegges for you then use dyna gro bloom. 1 bottle nutrient only thing needed for an entire auto grow.. thats how to grow the funk on a budget.. fox farm tiger bloom could do the same.

Fair call. I guess it just depends on your needs. :)

I'm growing under the 300w. It's going fine so far. I've seen plenty of people doing fine with them. But, if I were you, and had the money for it, I would build a 4 cob LED. Will last you longer, run cooler, and be a lot more efficient in the long run. The only reason I didn't do it back then is the lack of knowledge on LED, and the fact that I'm broke.

I can't build a cob and even if I could I'm lazy lol and I just want to get a light that is already assembled and ready to go.
The thing is, I don't know if I should get the 300 watt or 600. It seems like it would make sense to get the 600 but I'm only growing one plant so my concern is that the 600 watt might burn my plant because it's so strong.

It won't. A 600 watt mars hydro still isn't as powerful as a 200 Watt COB setup. Go for the 600 watt then, if you're dead set on mars hydro.

great thing about photons is the further away the source of emission is, the more gases and dust the photons hit on their routes. 600w, move it up in height. just check to see of there's a recommendation for height. and you could probably start seedlings under the canopy of the adult so you arent pumping a few hundred watts of power over one or two seedlings.

Lol the 600 will not burn the plant, if it's burning the plant then raise your lights.

Just man up get the 600, either way it's still a Mars LED

Do at least 2 plants you'll be disappointed with the end results

for real bro. trust me i was growing 1 auto at a time.. get that 600 and 2 good autos and you could have a QP dry.. its sooo much more worth it.. plus youll have 2 strains instead of 1.
