Spotty leaves

Hello Folks, Anyone know what might cause this and how to cure it? It's happened to some indoor veg plants in soil. Thanks in advance. mj.jpg

Looks like thrips, monterey garden insect spray or anything you can find with spinosad in it is your best bet.

yes, and look at the very edges of the leaf. you can see webbing. this is spider mites. where are you in your cycle? do you have a clone/veg/flower area that is unaffected(for now)?

Looks like he may still be in veg. He might be able to save it but he has a pretty bad infestation.

One ounce of 70-90% isopropyl alcohol, per gallon of r/o water. Keep the iso out of the root zone, you've been warned, also use plenty of ventilation and stand 'upwind.' Iso is bad for human tissue and organs.

Tip your plants to the side, cover the root zone. Spray them down completely, let sit a few minutes, then shake the excess off and RINSE with r/o.

Do this every 2 days for 14 days. Make sure you also find and eliminate the original source of the mites, if its still around.

Thanks again. These are from 2 mothers about 2 months old. I use them to keep something going over the winter and clone when needed for replacements. I only do a grow once yearly outside in the spring. I started some new clones last week to replace these.

You may want to spray ASAP with Capt Jack's Dead Bug Brew which has spinosad. GEt a one gallon sprayer and spray under all the leaves then the plant. When the lights are off.

Spinosad is rather ineffective with mites. Even safer's soap would be better. Using water and iso dissolves the webs and eggs and is quite cheap and effective. The only downside is breathing a bit of the iso. Would love to find a grower with mites and use ethanol to see if the same effect. Would much rather inhale ethanol fumes. lol

IMO that is not mites, if mites had done that much dmg there would be webs and visible adult mites (tiny but visible) under the leaves.

There are webs and eggs under the leaves, the tops look exactly like mite damage. Have you ever had mites? I moved to Colorado 6 years ago a quite a few growers have mite issues. This is exactly what it looks like.

Edit, my bad didnt see the second picture, obvious webbing. I was just saying initially that mite dmg that severe would have webs all over it, which it does.

You will need a strong miticide to deal with an infestation as bad as yours. AVID and Floramite in combination are the go to for indoor cannabis growers. I had mites i got from other cannabis growers that had lived through generations of these mitacides and built resistance. If u got the mites from nature they are much easier to deal with than if you got them from other growers who have likely been battling them for a long time. The only product i have found that still works on resistant mites is Tetra-San, but its super hard to find, if you plants are still in veg its a great option, but use carefully cuz i think its pretty toxic.
