First time growing...

Hi I am a first time grower. I live about an hour outside of Toronto. I was given 2 seedling from a friend to see how they would turn out. I am just over 5 weeks into flowering and the other night the temperature outside had dropped to around 50°F. The following day the ends of some of the fan leaves had turned purple. Should I be worried? Should those leave remain on the plants? I have added pics of the leaves and of the plants they are off of. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hey man I'm around your area too. You're fine on temperatures I think the lowest it got was 10c and that's fine. When you get to 0-2c that's when you worry.

Have you been feeding them at all? And why such a small pot? They are definitely under fed and root bound. I believe the colour change in leaves is due to lack of food and root development. Never seen purple before usually goes light green to yellow when you have a nitrogen deficency. I would start with small amounts of organic food for now as your close to being at the stage of flushing your nutrients out. Any leaf that is around 50% yellow or dead you can remove, don't remove to many at one time. You will get a better yield but be weary of how much you use for food at this point in flowering.

The pots are that size cause I don't have a large yard as I live in a town house and need to move themail around my yard to get the proper amount of sun. So basically easier to move around. I am thinking next year I will be trying to find larger buckets to use.

it's all really normal around 6th week to see purple and yellow leaves develop. You can get rid of your leaves on the bottom of your plant when you hit 6th week as you won't need them. Last weeks of flower you don't want to use any fertilizer. Your plant will pull all the mobile nutrients it needs from the bottom of your plant to the top. Eventually the entire or most of plant will start to wilt when fully mature. Get a microscope tomorrow you will need this. And next year please get some organic fertilizer from a hydroponic store. I use Dutch Nutrient Formula and it works well. Good luck. Happy growing.
