To anyone who knows of this hempy bucket..

I had already posted the actual "hempy" instructions previously in the hydro section but it was overlooked.... thats why I made a simple tutorial w/ pictures in the newbie section.... just for something simple..

Al B. Id like to know how you would set that wick system up... Im interested

once had a dog named
GraF, it's really no more complex than a bucket of absorbent grow media (i.e. rockwool, can even be soil) with a hole in the bottom and a rope through it, dangling into a reservoir of nutes.

Google 'wick hydroponics' and you will find more than you can read. :)

Ignore pre-made wick system kits. There's nothing in a kit you can't make in under 5 minutes. All you need do is drill one hole and assemble the thing.

ppl need to realise that this isnt an alternative to other hydro setups its an alternative to soil on a budget.
so, instead of just digging up dirt and putting it in the bucket with a heap of holes in the bottom, you just do this and get better results than the soil, you also get to play with and learn about hydroponics during the grow.
after doing a grow or two like this youll be prepared for stepping up to the more advanced systems.

great post GraF

whats an alternative for perlite/vermiculite that can be had for nothing?

so you have 1 whole in your 3 gallon bucket... after u water, where does the water leak out into? do you have it over a bucket? a tub? Im confused, how is this different then using a pot with holes at the bottom...

ive always wanted to get started on hydro grow but i cant say I complete understand the concept...soil :(

bump because i still kinda want somone to answer my question

its concidered a hydro system because its got a hole on the side so you have a resevoir at the bottom of the bucket... and the roots suck it up and then you just water aggain... soil-less and more efficient

now someone answer my q
