Pick sucker leaves or not???

i have heard of many people that pluck the "sucker leaves" or the leaves around the forming bud in order to increase the yeild. So far all I've read says that this will only slow growth. But I noticed many expert and famous growers use this technique and it is very common in tv shows about marijuana growing. Everywhere I look, and everyone says picking off sucker leaves increases yeild except for people on forums..
What's the true answer!

Dont be scared to cut them big fan leaves off it will not hurt your plant Cut them off 3-4 week of flower

I remove all the growth under heavy canopy at the bottom nodes especially. It's called lollipopping but it really only works if you do it before the flip. Sucker leaves is kind of a stupid term but keeping the bottom totally bare does push more bud towards the top as the total flower weight has more to do with light exposure than anything else.

Calling people lame after giving no explanation why you would cut a healthy part of your plant off in flower ...or give advice to do so to a new grower without telling him why it would be beneficial you don't even know why you do it .....ya your a wealth of great information and a bright one at that I can tell ....go pluck away to fatten those buds rite up .....lmfao

Awwww key thing mentioned there before the flip .....I myself train and keep the lower portion of my plant tidy during veg ....but pulling leafs during late bloom for bigger yeilds is ludacris ......but that's how you answer a question thanks for the great example Richard

techniques are gimmicks,plain truth is some egg head stoners posting shit in high times its doubtful most even do.

botany is a science,enough research has been done on cannabis that we know what these " gurus" call sucker leaves are actually a part of the plant with an extremely important role to play,the leaves sticking out of the buds generate about 5% of the pohoteosynthis that the sun leaves generate,the sun leaves job is to convert more energy into sugars & carbs the plant can absorb.

if anything gently tie your large sun leaves out of the way of the bud site its shading but never remove them until they gobyellow & pop off with a gentle push downwards .

the sun leaves are the solar panels 4 your buds,I've done side by sides of entire tables where I've cropped the sun leaves to prevent bud site shading,vs the rest of my tables being ran sog single cola & the colas in the unmolested tables produce from 10 to 20% more useable bud with just as much resin as the less weight pruned plants .

Yes, I'll cut suckers off my corn. Cannabis doesn't have suckers. You could consider under growth that is very small suckers and prune a little.

You are talking about fan leaves. That hurts yield. That's what drives the plant.

agreed 100%,gimmicks r for newbs trying 2 beat the system or to somehow do the more is better route,we've all been through that phase,shit when I 1st started growing idiots were driving nails through the stalk to produce more THC & boiling the root ball of a freshly harvested plant 2 " force " the THC in the roots into the plant lmao .

I do 6 node clone dog single cola grows & I remove all side branching with node sites but leave zero node side branches for the extra sun leaves,people outgrow this shit with experience.
