Does anyone have a close figure what it would take to grow 4 plants light foods and all. i know the first time it costs alot.

i think he wanted a ball park price.

i would say with lightbox fan cheap your looking 450.00 to finish then after the first round its food co2 so on

start with lights timers media and slowly move up .

its hard to put a price as your local market could be much higher

$450 is about right if you want something worth smoking in the end.

Well if your lucky you can do it cheaper,i got three sets of lights and ballasts and 6 bulbs off ebay for £50 and i have about 6 litres of nutes a mate gave me so all its costing so far is £50 + power:blsmoke:

Your going to end up with fluff weed.

That was sort of a rude and useless comment. "You are going to end up with light fluffy weed". He didnt' even explain what lights or describe the setup. Hell of a conclusion to jump to. Pay no attention to haters.

Congrats on gettin up and going cheap. I happened to get up and going for free. I have 2 plants that are 4 weeks into flower and they look great. How much you spent on your setup doesn't directly effect the outcome.

I finagled my way into all of my equipment. I now have the light (250w HPS) - closet stealth grow - a Can 66 Carbon filter with 360 CFM inline fan, 5 60 cfm fans and the odor removal machine ala videoman.

It's all about making moves. I made trades for the first product I produced. A buddy of mine has a bigger grow room now and didn't need his smaller stuff anymore. I was more than willing to trade some produce from my first grow for the ability to grow for free!

Don't forget your electricity costs and the costs of odor removal for security. They get higher than people on here like to state. It's very hot out here already about 95 degrees and I have to run an A/C unit all day long to keep the girls happy. Fortunately I only have 4 weeks left and I won't rerun it in the summer, but keep that in mind if you are thinking of starting now. Summers can be brutal depending on your location.

The question was relative to cost. The assumption would be in the purchase of the products needed. Not trading. That is an undeterminable variable. Dont' miscontrude my comments as hate, I am predicting the positive. BTW if your setup is so great where are the pics? I can tell you from experience if you not planning to spend any real money your not going to get anything.

I've seen some decent grows with cfl's and they look great during flowering, but dry weight is the key. Your not going to get dense buds without HID, or the power of the sun. I call it fluff, you call it what you want. The buds may look big, but once they dry the air space in the buds is reduced.

I'll post up new pics in grow journal tomorrow when I get my camera back, but my grow journal is up there with some old pictures from I think week 1 or 2 of flower.

Your comment was based on a complete lack of information. You draw the conclusion that because it was purchased cheap it will produce junk. No description of what was purchased, no question asking how he got such a good deal, just hater talk. "You're going to get light fluffy weed". You don't know that. He may have 3 400w HPS lights in his grow room for all you know.

Try elaborating more when you throw out comments and you won't get called a hater.

I'm dissapointed in your lack of ability to draw a conclusion based on price what he's purchased.

I tell you what....prove me wrong. Show me a journal where someone produced something worth while with a cheap setup.

This is my grow journal. I will take pics tonight of my "cheap setup" and I'll show you what it can produce. Instead of asking what was purchased and how the grow is going, you jump straight to..."it's going to suck".

Even if he had 3 150w HPS lights it would still be a decent setup for a small grow. People have done great things with CFL's too, I personally don't like them, but hey, to each their own. I may try a CFL this summer to avoid some of the heat problem's when it get's to 110 degrees outside this summer, but I doubt it.

The plants in that journal are grown in soil under a single 250w HPS light. They are actually pics after 2 days of 12/12 so they are basically veg pics.

I consider it cheap. I don't consider it $50 cheap, but it's cheap. I don't understand why people use CFL's when you can purchase an HID for about the same cost after all is said and done. You need so many CFL's and they require you to move them so often, just a big PITA to me. Like I said, if heat and ventilation are the concern, than I suppose it's worth it.

I agree, floro weed is always fluffy. My point is that you didn't elaborate on that fact in the first post. The first post offered no good information as to why it would be fluffy, what should have been done, what can be done to make it better, etc. Just flat out, one line, it's going to be fluffy.

THAT WAS MY POINT FROM THE BEGINNING!....regardless of what I said after the fact the individual is going to do what they want. If that person would like to know further all they have to do is ask why I came to that conclusion. I'm more than willing to help, but I will not impose my practices upon people. I don't know how many times I have to repeat this in posts but it's all trial and error. We all made our mistakes and learned from them.
