Should I always use full spectrum?

Hey guys, I am getting a mars hydro 2 series and it has a switch for veg and bloom.
Should I keep both of them on throughout the whole grow?

I was thinking if I keep both on, the plant will grow quicker. What would you guys do?

Wait! No! Don't! Stop!
1 ch is half power, 2 ch is full power. 2 ch good. 1 channel bad.
Hey when the mars blows out you can wire 6 COB's up in the frame for about a 100$ and get 200 cob watts...

Do you think that the mars hydro suck because you mentioned about it blowing out.

The mars is just not a good light IMO. I have 4 panels atm and all of them suck. The mars style one blew a diode and half the board is out. It can be fixed for about .75 cents but why it runs way to hot and the foot print sucks. I could of got 3-5 citizen cobs and driver for what it cost and ran better and cooler.

If you like those LED types look at viparspectras line they work rather well and a few members here use them and have blogs.

I just get pissed at how some ppl say I posted this already. It's just getting annoying.
You gave me a nice specific answer and I appreciate it. I was talking about air walker saying about how I can find this question anywhere, I didn't mean you.

I talked to another guy that had his mars hydro blow out too. Now I am starting to think about not getting it. Thank you for telling me about that because now I'm having second thoughts about getting it. What kind of led do you think I should get? Some ppl told me to get a vapastar or something like that. I can't remember the name.

How long did it take for your hydro to blow a diode? Thanks for the advice I really appreciate someone who can answer my question and not be an asshole like airwalker.

200 bucks and the mars hydro is 180.
I just watched another vid of it and if I get an led I'm definitely getting the mars.
I don't have a tent for growing so I grow in my bedroom. I will only be growing one plant at a time.
I'm worried about how much electricity it takes up.
I use cfl's and they barely take up much electricity.

Do you think if I get the led it will raise my electricity bill by a lot. I know my buddy used an hps and it raised his bill a lot.

Sounds like a question for @Olive Drab Green he runs an led better than the mars and 30 bucks less but the bill part he would know I assume.

CFL's typically run at about 0.4 umol per Watt so you you will be much better with LED as the newer led systems are now getting over 2.2 umol per Watt.

The operating temp is 85 - 105F or 638 BTU for the Mars 2 - 400

150F to me feels hot but is bearable to touch (its different for everyone)

@papagrizz pulled 5.8 ounces off this one plant usin a Mars led light, and yes he had a panel fail after a year or so but Mars sent him a replacement. I'm not sayin Mars is the bomb but it is obviously not crap either. A big problem in pot forums is too many do not properly understand how to use light within the bigger picture of total environment
