how big should my grow rooms dimensions be if I have 2 HPS lights?

Well if it were me I would want 2 4x4 grow spaces.
So 4x8 would be the grow space. I have a 9.5x 5 tent. I could make it work but it would be hard to access my res. And I'd have to figure out where to put my fans. ...

I'm limited to 5 plants. However if that were not an issue I'd do a sog aeroponics.
Maybe 200 plants. You would need a good cloner.
Or do a scrog maybe 10 plants a light?

I think plant count isn't as important as space filled.

Not quite. I'm at a misdemeanor until I chop and jar

I have a single 1000W bulb in my flowering room that is 8 X 8 feet. Light coverage is OK. You can use them in separate rooms - one for vegging and one for flowering. If you want both in one room measure the far wall and divide by 3. If the room is 9 feet place one bulb 3 feet from the left wall and the other 3 feet from the right wall. You may want to leave a little room on each side wall for access. I took a large sheet of paper with tape on it and moved it around the ceiling for my flowering room. Gave me a good visual idea of where to hang the light fixture.
