How to have a perpetual grow, with only 1 tiny grow tent which is used for drying too?

I'm trying to figure this out, and I might be retarded since I can't.

I have a 2x2x4 grow tent. I plan on growing 1 plant at a time in there. Is there some way that I can keep a clone, while flowering + drying the buds in the tent (to avoid stinking up my place).. And then veg the clone right when drying is done?

Or would I need a little clone space in a closet or something? And how would that work? If flowering is around 65 days.. and drying is a week'ish.. So around 70 days total.. Where a clone will just be chilling? By 70 days the clone would easily outgrow a rockwool cube, and no longer be a clone.. size wise.. And would need proper light for vegging..

You can "park your plant" or place a small light over it enough to keep the clone going. A party or beer cup will be fine.

Your clone will flower under a 12/12 photoperiod.

Im also in the same boat but I have a small clone/veg cabinet and a flower tent. The time lines dont really make sence to keep plants continually growing, if you want to take clones off of the big one you are about to harvest, even if you take clones a few weeks into flower, there doesnt seem to be enough time from when you take that clone, til when mom is ready for harvest 8-10weeks later, baby is huge!

Put the big one in the clone/veg room and only flower the clones not the mother

it seems that you need a seperate tent for your clone and vegging plant but with just one plant in flowering it seems growing from seeds might be a better option.or monster cloning ( taking cuttings from a flowering plant) plants should be atleast 8 weeks old before you try to clone them and thats too much veg time for the space you have.

You could possibly go perpetual 12/12 from seed cycling a 16 oz cup and a 3 gal smart pot. Rotating the party cup plant into the 3 gal at harvest and then starting the new seed in the cup?

ive been trying to figure out this myself for the past few weeks...i have a grow cabinet with 2 plants,i wish to continue with 2 plants taking a clone off of each of them...i think im just going to build a second smaller veg room with smaller lights and sustain the clones in there till harvesting is done.then transfer into the cabinet to finish their lives, eventually take a clone off of the clones and continue, hopefully harvesting every 2 months with purple kush and og shark

thats what i'd do....fuck, thats what i did. i tried starting small, but i didn't like small plants.you need at least two small areas for a perpetual grow. and if you consider the time for a cutting to take root(7-14 days) the time for that rooted cutting to fill your first pot(14 days) then the second pot (another 14 days) you've eaten up 5 or 6 weeks, spend another week or two lst'ing and super cropping, take another couple of clones, and its time to switch

You will have to build a light proof box and place it inside your tent, and uc ant dry in the tent with the light on, well u can but it may lead to the thc being destroyed.

Grow autos. You don't have to worry about veg mode vs. flowering mode or changing lights or light schedules. Turn the light on 24/0 and wait for harvest!

Good luck, BigSteve.
That's actually really nice advice. Can I top autos for bigger yields? Or should i just grow more plants?

12/12 from seed works with some strains but with others like indica dominate strains the plants are pretty small when the go into flowering.

topping or any kind of aggressive training that shocks the plant will result in lower yields.with autos.shock does not change their genetic clock. it only takes away a few days of growth.

Thats a mighty ambition to grow perpetual in that space. I honestly don't think it would be a good ambition.
for a perpetual grow you really need separate veg and flower "rooms". I have a 2ft by 2 ft by 8ft vegging closet and a 6ft by2 ft by 8ft flowering closet and still have difficulties with perpetual grows with the strain I use. it vegges in 6 weeks but take 10 weeks to flower and is a sativa dominate strain so tends to get a little tall so lights need to be a little high for new plants to accommodate the more mature plants. with indica dominate strains you may get away with 12/12 from seed. but would still need a separate grow room for your mother plant to keep it from going into flowering. if you were using clones instead of seeds

If you have room for more than one auto I would grow a second plant. Yield from 2 plants will be more than from one topped auto almost always. So let your set-up tell you how much room you have and grow autos to fill.

NOTE --You can also control plant size by picking the proper pot. Short pots will tend to grow shorter plants.

Good luck, BigSteve.
