hell ya we use guerilla tape all the time to put branches back together as long as some of the branch is conected they will come back but ya got to tend to it asap when it happens they take alot more than you think they can
Even if not attached if u catch it early. My first successful grow I had reattached a lot of snapped limbs. Most still partially attached I remember 2 completely detached. 1 branch recovered, the other I didn't get to it as quick. Now I don't fuck around, I get netting on the plants more prone to splitting, or tie up the y joints, before they get too big and put on weight. That plant u have was bound to split with growth like that. Preventave maintenance my friend, live and learn

Op it looks nice now. I'd watch the zip tie later on. Sometimes the bark or skin on some of my plants grow around the ties and make a perfect spot for water to run down the stem and collect. Which shoudltn be a problem in the summer heat; but will likely cause mold or rot. Also if ur plant grows a lot it, and you dont remove or replace with a larger one, it can reduce yields greatly if it chokes out the branch. Good luck.

Ps. If the skin is still attached the bud will still grow. In the past I've had branches snap 95% off and hang straight down and grow a nice fat bud while dangling in the wind. It's not ideal growing conditions but these plants are weeds after all.

Alright I got some new pics for viewin. I'm thinking I need to re-apply this brace. In other words take all that plastic shit and tape out and replace with solely zip ties. Thoughts? As you can see from one of the pics that the bottom is permeable. Had some pretty rough wind the other night and I can tell it threw the branches about. the biggest branch looks like its recovering..the leaves arnt as droopy but the other one damn it looks sad as fuck. They're casting shade on the other branches too man I hope they aight only time will tell I guess

Take a look man

The thing about zip ties is they are very narrow, and can be too 'sharp' a point of contact -- a big wind and the branch could break again at the zip tie, or it could just rub the bark off. If you use tape then at least the pressure is spread out over a larger area.

I would probably remove all the plastic, if for nothing else because it's totally blocking your view in terms of seeing what's going on at and around the break.

@getawaymountain back in post #38 had a good example of a nicely done repair.

Yeah your on point with live and learn my friend. I knew it was going to snap the way it was at slant with no cage or anything. I did my best with bamboo but it wasnt enough haha

Next year will be a bit different

I wonder if you could have taped it like that example gatway showed you before it split, one branch breaking is less of a disaster.A little tape here and there might help with bud weight.Grow extra we all lose a bit every year

Looks better than it did huh. Should pull through fine since you caught in time.

I had a Blue Dream snap in half like that and it must have sat for a minute too long because it ended up just fucking off to the weed gods.

So the limbs were completely dead upon revisiting so I didn't hesitate to chop em. Idk what to do at this point. The rest of the plant looks healthy but what should I do about the gaping hole at the bottom? Has a blackish look inside has me queezy lookin at it.

Aww man I took the brace off her and took the rest of the limbs off the stalk. I'm left with three shoots that look amazing but my concern is the stalk itself. Should I cover it or what? Doesn't look to great right? Haha I poured some water over it to clean it the best I could not sure that did anything. Check it out:
