Ooooohhh, I want a Pro-9 soooo bad. @TheMagnificent uses his w/ regular 7-8' ceilings & his plants aren't over intensified. But, I think the best way to get full use out of the Pro-9 is w/ ceiling high enough to accomplish the 4'-5' footprint. If you have 9' ceilings you should be able to do it.
I'd get the IC if you have the ceilings for it as its Probobly a lil thicker dimensionally.

The 2 rooms running 12 photos each will allow you to harvest once a month. If you use about 300-400 watts a plant w/ overlap, you'll Probobly get 10-12 plates out of each room. Maybe more.
When my Amare room is built, I'll be shooting for around 50 Amare watts per sq'. For max yields.

Once I get my 32" blades for the Cloak, I'm pretty sure I'll be wanting to incorporate these 2 lights in my final/real led room. Similiar to what I have now but much more light. That will allow me to grow tall plants too.
Right now, I'm shooting for 2, Pro-4's on one side in a 4'x4', the Cloak in the middle at around 3'x4' & get rid of the HH & put my SE-450 on the other side in the remaining 3'x4' space.
Hopefully I can afford the lights soon & execute that plan.
How high are your ceilings? Slanted w/ a high point in the middle right? If so, I'd definitely get the Pro-9.
That HH could be converted into a decent DIY using some citizen cobs

You might as well use the large sized fixture. It has a better spread for cobs than most. Just switch out those shitty blurple mcobs it came with for crees, veros, or citizens and still use the monos that surround them. Do you know what MA the cobs are being driven at?

What's up Brother @Hybridway
Just stopping in to get back to following your thread. Can't wait to see another round in the Sun Cloak :hump:
I have another smaller batch of vert flowering now while i get everything finished up on my construction and move back to a horizontal platform.
These girls should be ready to do work right about the time my new space comes on line. Rocking a new super turbo dwc invention I came up with

Yeah, you did real good on your vert. You showed people it's possible to pull 3-4lbs. Off 1, 1000 watt bulb!
That's big. I never believed it till now. Thanks for the enlightenment!
Glad you're here. This Cloak run is going to be a little different from the last. Pretty excited about it actually.
I realized something bout the Cloak w/ the owners help that should make a big difference for me.
He makes different configurations of this unit. I'm going shorter but utilizing the same output & # of diodes. So, more density/intensity should be the result. Which should be better for flowering MJ as well as keeping all the light on my girls. I believe the results will be bigger buds & higher yields. We'll see. They should be to me sometime this week.
Also awaiting the new Pro-4 from Amare. If all works out (always Murphy's law) this should be one heck of an led run.

Are you going to do vert & horizontal or just focus on one at a time?
Impressive stuff!
Turbo hu! They grow so big n fast in DWC.

the amare I'm daydreaming about is he solar eclipse 250 I'm currently using a switchable 250-400 over a 29" scrog they recommend flowering a 3 x3 with it but I would leave the scrog dimensions the same my stand is wide enough to run 2 waterfarms side by side allowing me the option of 2 plants which would shorten my veg time it takes to fill the screen I'm hoping to get this done around X- mas the se 250 doesn't have the uv bulb but I've really been looking & the se 250 is what kinda turns me on amare seems to have a good following of satisfied customers the price on the se 250 was $745.00 here is a pic of my scrog do you think this light is up to the job? I'm using a 4x4 area but the scrog only takes up 29x29 a 4x4 grow tent might be in the future if I move my grow into my house I'm looking at all options as my friend bought 2 vipar spectras but I would welcome the cheapness of one just don't know if long term I would be happy your input is greatly appreciated View attachment 3750488
I'd love to have some SE-250's. I like the Solar-System design w/ 4, SE-250's H-Bracketed together. I think it's a really cool idea Amare had w/ the Solar-Systems, allowing you to add lights. The SE-450 is designed so one could attach the mono panels or more SE-450's. I think they're all designed this way.
Amare is the Shiznit!

I'm loving the cloak man. I spent some time on their website looking for some more info on them. I think you can use them in other ways than their intended to be used. More for side lighting when you go all Amare. I'd love to see some more companies doing stuff like cloak and Amare. Different than the typical garage cob build. Don't know guess these guys aren't to innovative.

Vic just hit me up. Next week on my pro4's with the new xp-g3's

Yeah, I hear the xp-g3, 5 watt diodes are just as efficient as the Cree Cobs. Every little bit helps in the effiency field. If it equals more light for my plants then I'm all about it!
2 will cover a 5'x5' right? But w/ all your SE-450's too, you'll have light crossing everywhere anyways. You're gonna kill it running all Amare & cobs! Run that 50watts a sq' n max yield boooooyyyyy!!!!!
How's your builds coming. I like those Singles allot. The bars bad-ass to. You should Show these guys! Makes me wanna build the same things you did. Like exactly!

The 32" blades were hopefully shipped today. Got a message saying he was shooting for it. Mad Schyched! I think these are the key to using this system best for me. I figure they'll be about a 1/3 more density/intensity & the lights will completely engulf the plants at all times rather then having 1'- 2' of somewhat wasted light above. Also getting 2' cords & spacers, so I can spread the blades out for wide plants & put DIY cob bars above w/ some W/R/B added. I'll be able to attach the Cob bar to the spacers. Been envisioning this for a long time. That's next run. For now I'll stay this configuration but w/ 32" tall blades.

Started to big-leaf the Kings (back right) under the Amare. It had huge leafs blocking everything. I'll be plucking away big-leaf this week on all the plants that need it. When doing a plant, always do it all at once. Ha! As I didn't finish! Lol!

image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

All plants are doing great! Had a lil wind-burn so I put the fans on low n plucked the burnt leaves. They got their first Bloom feed 2 days ago. Gave em a shot of Vitalize in it.
Alls good!
I like not being tied up in a trellis or scrog. Rotate & access the plants. It's great. Just wondering what I'm gonna do when some of these wide ones start to pack it on. Might have to cage a few. Got the cages from before so no biggie.

I'm so amazed by the blades. I literally look at your photos for 5-10 minutes. The shorter blades will definitely be much better. If you grew 6-7 feet tall plants maybe but I see they are a little to high above the plants now and the lower section is kinda wasted. 2 pro4's between those blades would be the most intense lighting setup available. I don't care what anyone says about that.

I can't finish my bar till I pick up some more aluminum. It's gonna be a bitch to build and wire but once it's done it will be pretty bad ass. Besides the frame it's really just spare parts and 100$ in cobs. Not a top notch material build but I don't care. The singles have always caught my interest but the people who sell them don't reply to emails so I had to do it myself. I showed a few locals and I now have to make some for them. Simple work which was supposed to be fun is now turning into a list of additional work to get done.

As always your plants are looking phenomenal

I think 32" is a great compromise considering we hang out lensed lights away 40 inches. Not every leave will have direct light but the majority will and it will be a much more intense light. What did the cloak cost?

The only think I don't really like is they appear to be even lighting on the sides and top. I'd prefer 60% of the wattage to be up top and 20% on either side. That way there should be a more even light/leave ratio. Now it seems like the minimal amount of side and lower leaves are getting as many photons as the bulky top is.

So once these stretch, are you gonna go back to the 48"? Cause if those 32" don't get to you soon...
No, I'll concentrate on a full 32"x4' canopy. Top to bottom of the blades.

The Cloak is Mucho Denero. Although, it has NP paying for itself. Hoping to get 1.5-2 lbs. out of it using the smaller blades & only 4 plants. But I have no idea how these strains yield. They are all new to me
It uses 600watts on the inside & 800 when the outside blades are on like I have here. I have it set to about 3' wide & is designed to be 4' wide w/ 3 bays rather then 2. So, I'm not exactly using it to its recommended optimal performance. But I like this configuration.

Well, the purpose of this light is to fully utilize the entire plant. I'm hoping to show people that the middle & lower part of the plant is almost equally important as the top.

Using side-lighting in the HPS room, I've seen the bottom put out bud similiar to the top using the 75% top light & 25% side light proportion, like you suggested. Allowing me a QP increase in every plant using side-lighting. Which is in alignment w/ the 25% ratio.

With this system, the plant puts out buds all around that are almost the equivalent of those on the top. So, many medium sized buds rather then big colas on the top. But come chop time, it all weighs up, and the full spectrum 23K produced frosty, potent & dense nugs.

It's similiar to that of an HPS spectrum but very broad & full on the spectral graph, rather then spikey like HPS & much more of each color. Providing high levels of photosynthesis.

Just got word & a tracking #. Blades are in the mail. (:

looking great!
plants love side lighting.
waiting on a new mini split then i can flip the new room.have to leave the door open and added a 6 inch flex duct from my house ac running through the door way.
the plants are girl scout cookies and veg slow so 1 more week should be better for the bottom line anyways.
added 4 more plant sites built around 2 600 hps in the new room so no go with out mini split.

Are you mixing the HPS w/ led for this one?
How much light are you running total that you need a mini-split?
I just got a 36,000 BTU myself. What a difference. The room runs perfect now. Mini-splits are the bees-knees!
I grew Stawberry cookie last grow. Smoking it now. Those cookie strains are real good. Not the biggest yielder, but respectable. How long a veg? What's your goals?
You built a new room? Cool!
Dimensions? Good luck bud!

The girls were getting pretty thick. Looked so pretty though. Did a "Big-Leaf", which is used up fan leaves that already did their job. Took leaves from the insides of the plant especially. I leave some here n there & around the edges. Also cut leaves in half. I know, it's unorthodox, but it works for me, keeping the power source (leaf), while doubling the light getting in. I usually don't do-fo until week 4. But recently decided that wasnt the best week to do it, despite the great success I had.
Decided on very beginning of flower (supposed to be day one) to strip them of what I see necessary, & again at 20 days I think. This will get the initial shock & heal time over with rather then taking energy away from her during bud packing time. Sounds good, but this'll be my first time trying it.
I like to send them into flower w/ all their big fat, healthy leaves from veg. Trying something new, hope it works out. I've seen guys & girls strip their plants right down on day one. Commercial growers I know.
Not as pretty but lights a getting in, that's for sure. o_O

Plants in the Cloak are already 32-34" tall from the tops of the pots. So, I Loli-popped accordingly for the new blades. All those sites stay there & grow some nice bud when I used the 48". Ha! It was funny! The plants engulfed the SC. Had vertical trellis on that one.
