Can't figure out exactly whats causing this.

Ok, switched from hps to LED and some plants are perfect while a lot have been budding strangly. These have been going like 8 weeks...I am debating cutting them down and making extract , thoughts?

I can't tell what stage those buds are at .....but if there not far enough along to harvest even under normal circumstances ....I'm not sure that the extracts would be all that great ......but I also know it's hard to just cut something down and toss it ....but sometimes we have to ....it's your call and more info would be needed to help figure out why this occurred in the first place. Good luck

Well they have been budding for 8-9 weeks I know this is a strain that takes about 11 , what do you think about the growth pattern. I would just leave them if I thought they were gonna fill out.

really bushy plants

I try and space the bud sites out or you get places for bugs and mold to grow

Looks genetic ?

Was doing lemon kushes for ages that were masterkush x lemon joy, we got a lot of variations some would go a bit like that

Leafy shitty hard to trim cunts I`d call them ones, lol

Triacontanol spray @ 30 to 200ppm (depends how brave you are)

if you get lucky it takes 2 to 4 weeks and the white hairs of the flowers over take all that leaf and you have far less trimming to do

Or move them out of your lights and let them dye for a bit before you cut them that way you get your light area back for some fresh plants

Take clones from the ones that flower the way you like or grow extra if going from seed

easier to just throw one of these kinda plants out then to flower it for 2 to 6 weeks extra and deal with all the trimming

Only worth it if its a particular land race sativa you like otherwise no point putting up with it as a good indica dom can make monster colas in 6 to 9 weeks

That's a strange-looking plant. I've only ever worked with indica dom strains. Is that a normal growth pattern for a sativa? I always say I want to try growing a sativa sometime, but not that, lol.

It`s what I call a "reveg" or "flower veg"

You get something like that happen when you GA3 most weed plants they kinda shoot out single to 3 point leaves

IDK maybe because sativas can flower longer there more likely to do it but it can happen in indica dom`s and hybrids can be particularly prone to it, when you have a 1st gen cross

hard to know for sure

I do know I had a mozam pure sativa I was growing that got fucked up by bugs so I ga3`d it and it shot out a bit like that but I managed to get them nodes sticking out longer then I triacontanol`ed them and each shoot turned into a branch and grew buds

this took around 3 to 4 months to happen the whole time under 12/12

but I mean that was my hobby tent when I had room to screw around for a year with some sativa and indicas and see what happened

most plants can probably do that if you use PGR`s and get lucky

I`ve made an auto go back into veg under 12/12 or maybe 10/14 using ga3

and like I said with triacontanol you can make a plant shoot more white hairs and get more buds until pretty late into flower

but I find trimming and removing old leaf takes the most time and old dry shitty leaf seems to upset your average smoker can get that dry cut grass smell

So I like plants with big round fat buds and a few leaves that are easy to trim some sweet leaf that sits under the buds is fine

what I hate is an nice smelling plant with loads and loads of leaf you can`t even get people to "try" it

Just becomes fuel for the bho cannon in the end

so I try and pick out the best ones and clone them

spot the leafy shittyone ones sooner and waste as little time as I can on them

I mean I`ve seen AK47 grow a bit like that and some pure indicas too only difference is the bud is bigger and more dense normally so its worth doing may look strange growing but looks fine once its bagged up

Just that looks like these leafy lemon kushes we got some of the top buds are fine

but really you grow them for an extra 2 to 8 weeks and you don`t get much more and what you do get is a lot of shitty lower leafy junk that`s only good for yourself or making bho with

You avarage weed snob will turn it down.. lol

Actually when you re-veg after flower or clone a flowering plant the grow a bit like that for 2 to 8 weeks then they go back to a more normal type of vegging growth

Maybe that answers some of your questions, plants retain full dna of bother sides of the family tree and can choose to grow a number of types of flowers and leafs

that's why hybrids when they get unstable can start doing all kinds of stuff stuff you normally only see in landraces or rarer plants can just happen

Sometimes its good most of the time it just means your going to have to trim good

unless they smell really dank best to just fuck them off and put a producer in their place asap

Ok....I think I figured it out and learned something that I could use. It is a LED learning curve . Ok I used HPS for about 5 years and they emit radiant heat from the light source...too much actually. So when I switched to diy cob lighting there is no radiant heat from the light itself. So during a very cold spring I put in a fan to spread the heat developed in the led ballast to the canopy

So what happened is that it got hot...and I didn't turn it off....So with a hid grow I would have found out quick by leaf burn...due to the radiant heat emitted by the bulb causing leaf burn...
But with led ...no leaf burn and the high canopy temps went on until....I freak on all the foxtailing.

But the good news is that I can create foxtailed high producing plants at will....without damaging the leaves.
