Curing...Mason Jar Size?

Am a rookie but everything i have read says the quart size mason jars seem to cure better than any other size. personally, I don't understand what difference it would make but what i don't understand would fill a couple football stadiums.

What is the accuracy of those cheap hygrometers? if it is only accurate to +-%5 and we are trying to maintain 60% - 65% in jars. it would be pretty much useless would it not?

Personally, i don't see the need to have one in every jar. if you pulled 'em off the line when the stem bends slightly & snaps you should be pretty much on target right off and all jars should be about the same. just rotate the hygrometers you have when burping.

I use the boveda & if u bring the R/H to what the boveda is they will last & yer bud will taste great
on my 1st buy for 2 years now
I use 1/2 gallon masons stuffed 2 packs per 1/2 gal
& do breathe the jars regularly in the 1st month or longer depends on how u grew it they sit sealed once they cure to my likin

After you get your desired humidity and put the boveda pack in, do you open the jars at all during this curing process?

Yes, even if you dried properly and you're holding stable at 63%, you still want to burp the jars daily for the fist couple of weeks to make sure you don't smell an ammonia smell which would indicate a problem. Also make sure the buds aren't sticking together. If they are, dump them out and gently separate them. The buds should tumble freely and make little 'clinking' sounds as your tumble them in the jar.

Thanks a lot. Now I hear some people say 2 weeks, I hear some people say 3 months. And like many things in life there is an effect called diminishing returns. Which means doing something longer will make it better, but the rate of improvement slows down to a point where its not really worth it to continue the time based on the small results you receive. Does such a thing exist with curing?

I use food grade buckets that you get fruit in large quantities from ......they work just fine snap on lid ....but I also do my cure by feel ...so I don't need to see through the jar to look at a meter .......but those meters are very cheap $1.37 that's great
