ROOTS...also...Harvest time?

I have a couple things to ask...
First, I am watching a plant for someone and its hydro....I do soil. I changed the water and used the nutrients that I feed my plants....the roots now have some darkness in some spots. Is this ok? I thought the nutrients couldn't sit for long.

Two of my plants are so tall that the surpassed the light and I can not take my hood any higher. Should I just cut the top? I feel like they're getting no light.

One plant has dead looking leaves on top...should I cut that one off? I will post

Last but definitely not least...do I look like Im ready to harvest? I have a jewelers loop and can see the trichomes I am supposed to look for.....but they wispy things are not at least 50% caramel color. I germinated April 11th and went to 12/12 cycle on May 27th.

That top has light burn...bend her out of the way with wires etc rather than cut.
Your soil nutes for hydro??
The roots look like they are starting to get starved of the oxygen needed...some liquid oxygen from the hydro shop will fix that..or turn the air pump up...
And you're weeks and weeks away from harvest imo... (:

Thanks. I figured I had a couple more weeks to go.

I have new clone babies who rooted and I put themy in a mini tent with an led light from home depot but I feel like they aren't growing now. Is it the light? It said for veg state. And I've been leaving it on a 24 hour cycle.

Home Depot and LED.....doesn't strike me as the best place to go for quality. :???: But I know little about LED... personally I would stick with cfl or metal halide unless you know the LED you have is a good one...

I am trying to switch over to LED but now I like my halides better....they just get so hot. Damn it....I will need to find a smaller light for this tent.

No he didnt. They had the plant in a room on the floor with a light bulb hanging way far from it. I offered to set it up in my grow room. I would love to learn more about hydro though as well so I figured I'd learn as I go.
It definitely looks so much better and it's growing nicely. The roots cleared up again and I bought a better oxygen stick for it.

I've been messing with, and messed about by, my veg lighting today as well.
I have a 400w halide in a parabolic shade, 150w halide and a few 125w cfls and a 4 foot T5 to play with...
But I ended up taking everything out except the 400w, even got rid of the parabolic shade and replaced it with a cheap Dutch barn type.
Heat and light can be a hassle at early the plants early stages....may have to get me a 3rd tent. One for seedlings....
