First grow, CFL's, help needed!!

This is my first plant/grow
I'm using 3 23Watt CFL bulbs.

Some questions:

• I picked up some nutrients. for the size of my plant, should I start feeding it now?'
• How often, and how much?
• and will 3 23watt bulbs be too much on the young plant?

Please if someone could help me, that would be amazing

Don't fertilize yet. You can use 1 bulb on that size plant. The way you have 3 on it looks inefficient at this stage, but it is not over doing it unless it gets too hot.

me I would do no nutrients because I know my soil Is quality . if you start to see yellowing then its time to feed if its very small is starting to turn yellow feed it 1/4 strength nutrients . and for the lights I have put these under 1000 watt bulbs . your small lights will work but in flower it will not get any yield at all need to spend at least 60 bucks get a better light .

Okay, I've been keeping 2 bulbs on it. I haven't noticed it getting much heat, but since I'm at work most days I leave the fan on in case. How big would you say it needs to be before I start feeding it?

I don't know what the soil is. I do believe it is good though. Came straight out of my garden. When I get into flowering stage I will buy more bulbs. Thanks for the help bro

perlite is needed to help with drainage. Cannabis roots prefer more drainage.

in two- three weeks when your repot; 33% perlite / 66% soil.

I put one ( 100w ) DAYLIGHT spec CFL on seedlings ..
Your soil may be not be optimal for your seedling ... Your garden soil may be too acidic or even alkaline. Using a good BALANCED and PH controlled premix is a no brainer to start with , even a simple seed starter mix. The nutes or maybe lack of is the UNKNOWN issue.

Perlite is a must for proper draining and aeration to beginning root growth. Without it , soil becomes compacted and risks smothering the new root or worse causing a DAMP OFF CONDITION.

its not too late to do a simple transplant into a better mix. Nutes will NOT be required as the premix will have what it needs from the start.

Thanks, it was my first grow which was why i use CFL's. I was happy with my first grow results, but It was inefficient and too much heat; so i switched to LED's.

Tons of research on google will help you get good results. It's better to do research first and then ask questions on here if you still do not understanding something. When you do ask questions, include everything your doing to help us answer: ex, brand of soil, ph of water, ph of soil, how much light, what color spectrum light bulb. Include as much info as possible to help us, help you.

You can expect anywhere from .3-.6 grams per watt with CFL's on your first grow. Scrog and other training methods will increase your harvest with CFL's. A flat canopy is the goal for you.

The hardest part about growing with CFL's is getting light 2-6 inches from every bud-sight. Which is why I switched to LED.
