Nutes and stretch

Does anyone notice a difference, or know of any evidence that feeding veg nutes the first few weeks 1-3 of flower will increase node spacing and stretch? Or switching to flower nutes earlier on stop the stretch sooner week1. If so please explain the difference.Just a thought, I guess it makes sense. Wondering if anyone has an answer, trying to get just a little more control on growth if at all possible.thanks.
