All I have is a small T5 High Output set up. 3 lights. 6 bulbs to be exact. I am ordering a LED setup but no funds for a few weeks. Should I wait to get the LEDs or is the T5 adequate you think?

Is T5 adequate to realize the full potential of our beautiful plant....no.

Can you grow through to harvest and get something smokeable. ..then yes.

You do what you can, take clones, start her flowering, get your growing down and upgrade light as you can.

Another BS answer!

T5's adequate? You bet your ass they are! Just have to have enough!

Look at RM3's T5 only grows and weep !!!

The thing I would say is "Stay away" from cheap LED lighting! Unless you by or build COBB LED's ,,,, they're not worth it!
They do a good job at vegging but, those stupid "blurple" lights fall on their face for quality Blooming!

DE HID
CDM HID
even "plain" HID will be a better LONG term investment!!!! @40below
OR simply supply enough T5's and use differing spectral bulbs for some real spectral control, including UVB!

How big a space will you be using?
Everyone wants to go "bigger", so look at being bigger and consider 1K DE (dual end) Gavita light.....OR simple 1K HID (they now have Dual Arc bulbs that combine 600w of HPS with 400w of MH to give a broader spectrum) and of course CDM - Ceramic Metal Discharge lights !

Enough Light = The easiest, most effective way to bigger more dense buds!

Huh, call my answer bullshit? Your telling me guys are getting yields equal to COB'S or HID from T5. I said yes you can grow just just fine but other options are better, maybe you should make sure you understand a person's post before you dis them, oh forget this is Internet everyone is more of an expert than next person and has to tell them, instead of just offering advice. Another Internet asshole on my list Dr. Who.

I'd flower now. Take a few cutting's, by the time you get your new light's they'll be rooted and vegged a couple weeks. The mama plant will be done with stretch and on her way forming bud. It's around this time the addiction kicks in.

Having a plant in flower might make you more patient and less likely to buy the first light you can afford. It's the most important piece of the garden.

^^^^^ agreed ... Take some cuttings ( search forum for help ) ... Perpetuate this strain and get your lights. There are some killer grows with just about ANY kind of light choice.
Scour the Grow Journal section and follow something that you are looking for. , if you have the room and ventilation options ready to go ... Then you could grab a 400w HPS system for about a hundred bucks.

There has been grows with T5 and T8 lights ... You could double up what you have already and mix up the spectrum.

He's right, though. RM3's probably one of the best growers on this site, and I dunno how he does it, but he uses T5s and T8s.

Will this guy yield like that? I dunno anyone else that does, so you might want to link up with @RM3.

You do understand that rm3 is running 900watts right?!? If he was using the same amount of electricity on a de gavita or cobs that dude would have much better results. But he doesn't have the ceiling for hid. So he has mastered fluorescent for sure.

That explains it. I was just saying, you CAN achieve good stuff with fluoros, I just don't know how.

I get bugs. It's organic, so par for the course. I got them in late veg with neem, and I used insecticidal soap from Nature's Care (active ingredient's potassium salts of fatty acids?) as well. But I haven't seen them in weeks.

It looks blue on camera, but in person, it's white with an only slightly blue hue.

I have the Osram Zelion HLs. They're blue/red. I know how it is growing with blue/red lighting.

Don't care! Won't use em! I'll beat the pants off any MARS! Don't even try!

Blurple LED's are NOT effective bloom lights - period!
In fact RM3's T5 runs beat them hands down, in and out!

For what I do and how - NOTHING makes me weep!

I'm going to give some COBB's a spin early next year - just to see what they can do..
