Kind soil?

Cannabis plants,weather grown in Michigan,Texas or the UK will respond to their environment or not in the same way. Strong healthy vigorous growth is normal. They reach for the sky. They grow fast and lush given the best temps,light,water,etc. and TLC. You can almost see them moving. On the other hand if their growth is stunted do to ignorance then our favorite girls will grow slow and not have an appetite for food,water and CO2. The upper soil that the Kindsoil method recommends has adequate NPK and other stuff to support the plants needs for proper growth. When the roots of one persons slow growth low appetite plant reach the Kindsoil level I am guessing this high nutrient "hot" mjx is to strong for a marginal plant. A nice beautiful big girl would just love strong food and continue to grow accordingly.

sorry to hear about your woes stoni! Definitely a fan of making my own medium here. I start with 65% coir, 10 % plain ol Canadian peat, and 25 % EWC or high quality organic matter/humus. A bunch of ammendments and minerals and ur good to go. All of the organic goodies help develop a nice stanky terp profile. My buds wouldn't be nearly as good as they are if i used prebagged medium and its cheaper to make ur own! i don't do water only though, when the plants start talking to me i supplement with HnG coco base. I would like to try it but i don't think its possible with my current mix using coco as a base be hard to do with organic method (leaches to much ) . People I've heard have good results with peat though. Here are some shots of sone light dep'd buds i just harvested. Just some whatever strains off craigslist. My indoors look even better but i would suspect you can't even tell these are done outside. I love outdoor tree but sometimes I'm able to tell if it was grown outside if its really dark from the cold or perhaps a lil leafy from the cloudy fall days.

My plants were not stressed at all during growth. They are very healthy until these got down to the kind soil and then they stop growing and start to show deficiencies . It's not only 1 person either? It almost seems like your taking shots at me ? "Stressed due to ignorance ?" They won't love the food if the ph of the soil is way off or if the soil is too hot for plant growth . Then they do what mine did . Later

Looks like you got it figured out alright !! Lol plants look huge , I love out door grows they are huge . I did it 2 summers ago and built a big 6ft dog run and plastic all of it . Worked alright but leaked and caused mold on my ladies but they were monsters and a lot easier than growing indoors . Good grow you got there !

Hey thx stoni! Those plants in the pics are actually only vegged for 2.5 weeks and flowered for a little under 8. Big plants arent really my specialty per say compared to most good folks round here , my focus is more on efficiency and fast turnaround. Those plants are already harvested and the bud shot is of those plants. I usually get 5 harvests like that out of a season utilizing the light depreviation techinique. Mold used to be a problem for me too outdoors until i started to implement light dep, ya beat the fall cloudy weather that molds thrive in. I move the plants every night to a controlled indoor environment with a sulphur burner to keep diseases like botryitis in check. I can pretty much guarantee myself quality buds as long as the genetics are halfway stable. I can't keep mothers around to clone from so i have to hit CL after every harvest to get what's available. I cant imagine what i could do with some quality gear but most of the time i don't pay more then 10 for clones. If your a good grower u can make anything shine! Thx again stoni and good growing!

Greetings again,
My kindsoil grow test is coming up during the next few months(hopefully 55 days). If I have problems or not I will surely test the ph of the wet soil(upper and lower) and also test the ph of the plant/pot runoff water. That way I will have some facts at hand if something went wrong instead of wondering or concluding kindsoil is "absolute junk" out of frustration.

It's not absolute junk . I've said that a few times . There are people that have good grows with it. I just gave my opinion. I tested all of those things too. Ph of coco loco is 6.5 all day ,the kind soil is almost 8 I'm sure I got a bad batch . But there are others who have also had the exact same problem . All of my parameters are also in check . I also have co2 enrichment with a sealed room . I don't use co2 in veg though as there is no point . But I will agree with you on one thing I was very frustrated with my grow . I wish you nothing but a great grow. I stuck up for the soil when I started with it too.

Hey stoni skimming back through the thread it looks like you have an actual batch of your own mix "cooking" up and i think you will be much happier with when you go this route. If you want it to finish faster consider adding some bokashi to the mix and it'll really heat things up! Apply a compost tea as well to establish a good microherd. I have mine in kiddie pools covered with tarps when cooking and stored in trash cans through the winter. I'm basically making/mixing my medium up all summer to use during the winter as well because I've attempted to make a mix inside and it took probably 3 times as long for everything to start breaking down and the actual composting process to start. Definitely not worth it imo to make it inside. Without my own mix i don't think i would even grow because i know how BIG of a difference it really makes. The best prebagged medium i have found would probably be dairy doo or Morgan composting out of Sears. Pic is pre perlite. Store your mix without the perlite to save space. use a super chunky perlite so it doesn't float to the top.

Yes this was my first batch of homemade soil. I'm hoping it knocks it out the park. Fingers crossed ! I only grow a few plants but I plan on making a few more batches for the winter also , I just have to make sure this batch works first before I try to replicate it . I have read a little bit about the gro kashi but never used it . Do you think it makes a big difference ? My soil cooked really fast this time as its been close to 90* for a while . Ph was 6.8 when I did a slurry test. I don't have a good soil meter. I've heard they really are not that accurate ? I have been brewing teas , well only 2 of them now but they don't seem to want to froth up for me ? I just bought some hi brix molasses ,hoping that will be better than the old stuff I had . Thank you for the help . I really appreciate it ! I've had a lot of stupid problems in my grow since I've started . Lol ya live and ya learn . Especially when ya have people that want to help . Haha

That's how ya learn. Try and see what works for you! Not a huge difference with/without the bokashi. I'm not a true organic guy, i still use house and garden coco base to feed through most of the grow. The froth means nothing in regards to microbial life in the tea. I follow microbeman when it comes to the tea game. I think his recipes work the best for me. I don't think you need fancy molasses though. i just use the stuff from the grocery store.

I have grandmas unsulfered black strap molasses from the grocery store . but it was getting pretty old so I grabbed some hi brix to see if it made a difference . It was only 7 bucks for a quart .

My apologies sir! just figured I'd pass the info along. Your talking to a 9 year member who rarely posts for reasons like above. Why does it really matter? The information i was passing along was just personal experience and pertained to the subject from my pov.
