This fourm is way better than grass city
I have a GC account, but I tend to stay over here mostly. Less restrictive here. I guess there, talking about other drugs is against ToS? Here, there's no limit on free speech as long as it's not malicious and it contributes to the creative or scientific flow of the hobby. Except TnT and Politics. Only go there if you:
-Want to troll
-Are bored
-Want to get pissed off
-Consider yourself an asshole's asshole.

Be sure to tell your friends all about us. If they're still in high school, lack the ambition to do much research on their own and want their hand held through it all, this is the place to be !! o_O
Nothing wrong with that. People just want to be sure of themselves and their ability. If there wasn't an educational element involved, we'd all just argue whose plant is better.

Alright man I'll stick with it , I appreciate all the help!!
Actually light dep is a great technique if you can do it, some build tents to cover plants, the only time I've seen it done is greenhouses, there is a good article in last months HT's. If your growing a strain that goes much passed October here there is a huge risk of mould. Getting it done early can be the difference between a healthy finish and a not so healthy one lol. If u can do it, it will work well.

Honestly, I'm no outdoor grower, so you would be more helpful explaining outdoor light dep techniques to OP. I just have no experience, and probably won't have that opportunity for a few years.

Not much of a concept really just limit the light to 12 hours by blocking the light until it's naturally at 12/12. A tent made of PVC pipe would work covered with light blocking material ( I don't think plastic would be a problem as long as it was big enough for some air flow but google it for some ideals :). I actually tried covering a few plants in the spring due to a frost warning and just gave up ..... To much work lol.

I'm hoping next year that the government will do the only right thing and allow personal grows then yup some giant MFer plants like I use to do instead of try to keep em under 6' lol, I was a fearless youth

What could I use?

It depends. If they are in movable containers or if they're already in the ground. If you can move them, let your imagination run wild...I've seen people put 'em in tarp covered junk cars with the seats taken out, sheds, makeshift greenhouses, holes in the ground with tarp coverings etc.

If you aren't familiar with the term "light bleed" you should research that and why it's good to avoid it.

Others have raised a good point already about increased humidity under a cover, potentially creating an environment for mold.

If you can't or aren't willing to adhere to a ridged time schedule though, and until you gain a little more experience, your best bet might be to let them grow as nature intended and cover them on the coldest nights in late September / early October as they near finish.

Some great information so far in this thread. With the heavy dew we'll be getting at night pretty soon, it's a great idea to make sure the plants have good exposure to the morning sun, so it can burn the dew back off early. Mold really can be a huge issue and ruins a lot of good weed sometimes.
