Is there a reason or advantage for not emptying the dish after feeding?

Honestly I've always been told to empty them and at the warehouse we did and then built false floors with drains so we didn't have to waste time doing it. That being said my partner as well doesn't empty his and pulled his largest yield yet and more per light than the warehouse. I feed stupid heavy ec 4+ in mid-late flower and everyone said I'll have salt build up issues blah blah but never have an issue and it allows me to feed every 3rd day instead of every other day. I'm lazy but hand feed because there is value in that. Seeing every plant making sure everyone gets a nice pee to ensure a full feed and able to look at stalks leaves tupur check for bugs any issue that u can't see from the top and so on. So I think I'll do a side by side my grow this time do my normal defoliation on everyone in the room but one cuz i know it works and not gonna screw my own yield lmao but ya I'll even pick a bigger plant at the time of flip to show why I defoliate. Timing is everything how's your doing after you hit those girls hard @shorelineOG

Just reveiwing what was stated in this thread and a few things I need to clarify. It was stated that where ever you pull a leaf a new branch will form, I have not seen this but when I first started growing a long time ago lol, we were pulling sun leaves off thinking that would make the corresponding branch grow bigger, I have not seen this happen and the branch seems not to be effected. I have tried on only a few plants to pull leaves off but they have typically been the smaller plants that I didn't mind fucking up, if it did help I have not seen it, could be they were shit plants to begin with lol. Also it was stated near the beginning that defoilation was not needed if there was lots of light and airflow (not you) so hence the question yield or air and light, if it is yield then why not do it to every plant? I have a few outdoors right now and would try it on one but not sure of timing, any thoughts as to when to pull em. If I do decide to do one I'll hit you up for advice as I progress.

Personally ourdoors I pull plant leaves all the time but normally way bigger plants. Still do same thing tho 1st and 4th week of flower mid to end on each week. The whole new branch where u pull a leaf is bs from how I understand you saying it but I can say there is always a branch already coming from that node regardless. The leaf pulling doesn't change anything as long as you properly break off the leaf. People like to pull at weird angles and damage the plant more than they should.it should be one swift quick pushing of the leaf stalk downwards towards the big stalk. Leaf stem should snap right off if it was ready to come off. I always say red leaf stems cuz 99% of the time thats a good way to tell they are ready to come off in my opinion but also some plants have purple red stems regardless so like I said 99% lol my Kandy Kush keeps a purple stalk whole time it's a genetic trait. Take some pics its easier to draw what comes off lol I did it for @shorelineOG made it way easier than explaining

Well the thing is I have finally got things dialed in to where the leaves pretty much stay green and healthy till I harvest be it perhaps a little earlier than most indoors. And yes I will do a plant outdoors. So first week of flower would be counted from the first sign of bud formation? Got aways to go for that I think

it's always good to give your plants one last good lollipop/trim if you haven't before or if your in your 2rd to 4th week of flower. After that I wouldn't trim anything else (except removing the popcorn buds that form along the under canopy) until the last week or so before harvest day 
also remove fan leaves as they die off or if they are covering bud sites, never just "remove" them to remove them. You want to leave the top of your plants alone, that's where all the energy is going and where energy is being collected for bud sites, fan leaves under your canopy aren't really needed, also remove small pop corn buds and branches that don't reach the canopy and use these for clones
