Post a pic and/or explain your filter system

The systems I use consist of components similar to these...

inline fan, sized to accomodate your room...hooked to the filter w. aluminum foil tape...then hooked to your lights..room...etc.

search for Can Fan...Phat Filter....odor lok sok...and you will find more info.

good luck

are the filters supposed to be inside the grow room say if it were a closet? Or should it be outside the closet with a duct coming from the closet?

Also, what's this diy co2 thing is that for odor control?

It can be mounted inside or outside the room...it just depends on your situation.

Not sure what co2 thing yer talking about...but IMO, unless it's a *well built* home made carbon/charcoal filter or a charcoal filter you purchased at a grow store you are fooling yourself to think that a "masking" agent (pinesol, ONA, fartin in the bucket...etc) will eliimnate the odor of marijuana from your exhaust.

Whether a human can smell it or not matters little.

But I guarantee the drug dogs can smell it...and that is all that need to be said.

good luck

Some fans push air more efficiently while others pull air. A squirrel cage type fan will pull air better (unless I've been misinformed). My ventilation is a 70cfm bathroom exhaust fan that's equipped with a cage fan that pulls. It's mounted above the ceiling and pulls air through an activated carbon filter.

The diy co2 is for supplementing your room with carbon dioxide, a gas essential to plant life. it does nothing for odor control unless it is a vinegar / baking soda getup. Then it'll just smell like pickled pot.

Here's a pic of my filter/ventilation setup at the top of my grow space. The fan is mounted on some rubber matting to abosrb vibrations. I just exhaust straight outside into the room (partition) next door. The filter works very well for the smell, my plants are pretty stinky! I could always put another filter on the exhaust but there is no need for that at the moment, I'm about half way through flowering. Good luck!

Big ups for the pic, snow white. I'm sure that will help folks who haven't seen one of these setups understand a bit better what we're speaking about.

I have my main rooms set up with 2 systems...one is a 630 cfm inline that PUSHES air from the basement..through 6" ducting to all of my cool tubes (5) and then up/into my house to utilize the heat (3200 watts). Because the air is sucked in outside the space and the air is pushed through the system..it picks up no smell.

The room itself is filtered by an inline "Probio" charcoal filter (no longer made, unfortunately) that is hooked to a 10" 737 Can Fan...and that is hooked to a 10" duct muffler to deaden the roar as it is jettisoned outside. I'd take a pic but I'd have to move a buncha plants and mylar to do it....

Looks alot like your set up..but mine sits on the floor and my fan/filter/muffler are all in succession w/no ducting in between.

And hey..I'd be amiss if I didn't mention what a clean/professional looking mount/install job that is. Well done.

Take note kiddies..this is THE shit.

Ok I was confusing myself about the co2 thing, sorry :)

I'm only doing a few small plants. So if I'm lucky I'll end up with one female lol. It's in a walk in closet and too be honest I'm not sure if I'll be growing long. Depends on how this practice run goes.

I have an old blower that was used on a wood burning stove. Pretty quite, puts out a good amount of air.

Could I use this? Maybe hang it up in the room and construct my own connection to the filter? It has a weird mouth on it.

Why thank you sir! :)

O'rly, what lights you using? This has a big impact on the sort of ventilation you need. CFLs are easy to vent as you don't get too much heat. HPS is a different matter though.

I'm using cfl's:)

Cool, shouldn't give you too many problems then. An open door with a normal fan circulating air should do fine. But if leaving the door open is not always practical, then a couple of 100cm or 125cm computer fans mounted at or just above light level, with passive intakes at the bottom of your grow space should do the trick and help with ventilation/room temps.
