Did the box come with the potentiometer? How do you tell what strength it's turned up to so that you can make both lights at the same strength?
No that box does not have one in it. What you see are two on/off switches that each control four cobs of the eight cobs.

I built this box. It had no cut outs or holes in it. I drilled and mounted everything on it.

The filter is ready to use.

I think most guys use 16 gauge

Pretty sure you can connect each driver to same plug but I'd do it individually myself.

Contact northern grow lights he has an awesome dimmer

Drilling heatsink for wire.....no difference
Some people are saying that 16ga is too big for the ideal cob holders, was that your experience?

Can i use the same ga wire for the entire build or am I supposed to use different sizes for different aspects of the build?

Sorry if I am being annoying.

After some more reading and watching videos on how to solder I've found that https://www.amazon.com/Alpha-AT-31604-60-40-Solder-Ounces/dp/B00030AP48/ref=sr_1_1?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1466872653&sr=1-1&keywords=Solder is the better option because it has more tin which results in a lower melting point which is preferred.

One thing I am really worried about is pulling all of this electricity from one outlet (there is only one in my basement). I'm going to be running 12 CXB3590s on 3 drivers @ 1750ma, a 6 inch inline filter fan, an in room fan, and potentially a small space heater in the winter. What amp and wattage rating should the extension cords I use be? Should I be worried about this or will I be ok?

You should be okay I'm pretty sure. Not positive. But you just wanna stay below the 15 amps it's rated for. I used 20amp when I built my setup.

Gotta find out what that space heater pulls!!!! Other than that your lights, in-line fan and room fans won't be a problem if you have the common 15 amp outlets.

Just remember to run your vacuum from a different breaker when you decide to clean your grow room!!!! Trust me.... Sigh......

Also, 18 gauge wire is perfectly fine

So after putting a lot of thought into it, this is the design I came up with. I plan to start building it tomorrow but am looking for feedback on if the spacing of the COBs is ok, it'll be for a 4x4 tent but I think the most plants I'll ever do in there is probably 10 in 5 gal pots.

The flat aluminum is where I'll be mounting the drivers and a junction box.

I could move the top and bottom in an inch to concentrate the light more. I'm so damn excited to build this light!! :bigjoint::bigjoint:

What do you all think?

Also, I was wondering what you all thought the best thing to connect all of this with is? As of now I'm going with nuts and bolts. I was going to rivet it all but I was at home depot and all i could find was .5" rivets, I'd need at least 2" rivets.

Anyone have feedback about the spacing before I start cutting? Any constructive feedback is welcome!

4 cobs per hlg-240h-c1750b, so at full power that's about 60 watt per cob right?

At full power that's 1100 PPFD at 52.9% efficiency. 46 watts per sq ft

So you'll have more than enough!!! Just make sure you have them as evenly spread as you can.

Couple more pics with the reflectors attached and end caps installed. Light is at about 50% power in these photos.

Thank you everyone who took the time to reply to my questions on this thread, couldn't have done it without you guys!
Yeh boi that's fuckin dope. I love it. Probably kinda heavy?
