And I apologize if I seemed a little bent out of shape. Sometimes when we are new at some things we are paranoid about whether we are doing the right things. Those links provided to me were very beneficial (kindnug). Thank you for complimenting my plants, they're my first so I'm super excited and super proud. And yes, I saw on growweedeasy.com that I'm supposed to wait for 40-50% of the white hairs to become dark http://www.growweedeasy.com/harvest#pistil-method This may very well be some misinformation that is out there. Yes, it absolutely threw me off and I'm sorry I started an unneeded thread. I actually have a lot riding on the success (or lack thereof) of this grow so I'm being very careful, especially this late in the game. I appreciate you responding because at first I really thought you were perturbed by this thread. But thanks again for responding and shooting me straight. I would hate to think of what would have happened with these other 3 girls had I proceeded without any hesitation. Happy growingBelieve it or not, I'm not bummed, nor is my ire raised one tiny iota. I'm just curious why some people tend to say "Hey look at me (or mine)" rather than spend a few minutes to review other peoples' posts of the exact same thing. If you had seen any of the 4 or 5 other posts posted the same day, you could have answered your basic question "I was just wondering if these girls are close enough to harvest".
So now you know... it's not a case of genetics, long straight white hairs are common in ALL immature pot plants. It means they need to grow and mature more. Your plants look very nice, and have lots of white hairs which should all mature to typically brown or red or orange as they approach maturity (not 40% red as you mentioned).
I hope you don't misunderstand why I'm recommending to you to read more. Your assumptions that 40% red hairs and loads of straight white hairs means you think they're about ready to harvest - I'm just concerned that you have a lot to learn and I'm trying to help point you in the right direction. Just telling you 2 weeks, or 3 or 4, doesn't do you any good if you still believe the misinformation your clinging to.
So peace to you too and happy growing.
