How long should the process take

this is my first time growing anything other than a mustache and i am curious how long it should take from seed to weed, can anyone give me some idea how long to expect?

from seed to smokeable weed, bare minimum for an average strain, you are looking at :

1-2 weeks germination, sprout, a set of leaves or 2
7-9 weeks flowering
2-3 weeks dry/cure

An auto-flower strain like lowryder (purchase from attitude seed bank) will give you weed the fastest.

typical grow: 4 - 8 weeks vegging, 6 - 9 weeks flowering, 1 week drying and 1 -3weeks curing. call it 3 to 4 months. there are quicker ways but they don't yield much per plant so people grow many small ones.

LOL I wish i had asked that question before i started! Everyone has different ways of doing the same thing that being smoking their crop. There are SO many variables veg time, strain, lighting, water, nutes, air, heat, cold, and pests and i am sure there are more.

i want to see what others post here. I will be at almost 6 months but i am a newbie growing more than one and have made a few mistakes along the way.

so it appears that it will be many months b4 i have a smokeable harvest, thats alright because i am pretty patient but what kind of yield should i expect from about 50 outdoor plants in that time, pounds? or ounces?

LOL see above post...... variables my friend variables . READ RESEARCH = REWARD Read some outdoor posts find a guru and read their posts. You will find it.

if you grow 50 plants, half are female, it would take 2/3 ounce per plant to be a pound total harvest. if you can't do several ounces per outdoor plant at the very least then you have messed up something basic. count on pounds if you have a green thumb at all.

yeah... pounds, especially if you do it right.... and if you want max harvest, you should grow for seven months total, use first generation clones to guarantee females, use good nutes (especially for bloom) and mix large amounts of soil deep into the earth (like 5 feet down) plant in soil in early spring months if you can (just make sure it doesn't frost anymore). Don't prune your plants very much at all... release Helpful bugs in large quantities to eat bad bugs... if your in the ground you don't really have to worry too much bout overwatering as along as you have good nicely mixed soil, but otherwise, don't over water your plants! I have noticed that pot plants can usually take in twice the recommended dose of nutrients as long as you work up to it over a long period of time. i appreciate the help guys this is what ive done so far and you can tell me what you think. I used hyponex potting soil and the seedlings are in 5 gallon buckets. I also have lawn fertilizer that is high in nitrogen that i have fertilized with. My next question is should i bring them in my garage at night and keep the florecent light to enhance early development before i put them in the ground?

alright heres the update! I am now using miracle grow potting soil with great results! I had germinated a few seed and most sprouted within 24 hours of hitting the soil. I am still bringing them in at night to enhance the early development and prepare them for a fulltime outdoor environment, should i consider doing in and out like i am until after the winter or do i have enough time to have a harvest before the winter hits?

way too late for an outdoor grow in US.

so far so good my babies are gonna make me a proud papa one day soon also is an indoor outdoor combo a good idea then since i am starting late in the year

I figure 100 days minimum, after the clones/seedlings have kicked in . . . based on 4 week veg/8 week flower, which leaves 16 days for dry and cure, or another week in flower, or veg, with 9 days to dry and quick cure. In my case, with suspected WRhino, the trichs were mostly cloudy with a few ambers at day 84, definitely on the upside of high, with no crash at all. Surprisingly uniform 26 gm plants, under plain old shoplights.

Exactly what I wanted. Of course, I've just finished a 10 week cure, as a stash grower. It was quite smokable at 10 days, but nothing like it is ending up. Best I've ever done, easily.

Anyway, "100 days" bubbled the fish.

Seedlings/clones sometimes seem to have minds of their own. Gotta be teens for a minute or two before they can be adults, IMO.
