Need some advice.

I set up a temp grow room, and went out to good ol' home depot and got myself 2 40w CFLs together putting out 5200 lums. I also got a y connector... I have to say i am surprized the amount of heat just those 2 lights or producing. I'm deff. gonna have to get a fan in there asap. All i have in there right now is 2 plants. 1 plant is about 3'' tall with only its first set of leaves and the other i just put in the soil tonight after its germination. I guess my question how many lums am i gonna need for just 2 plants? The box there in is about 3 feet tall and like 2 feet wide. I also plan to cover the whole bitch with mylar soon. I also go the soft white lights, so are those gonna be ok for veg? Do i need to keep adding more lights as i progress (bout how many lums total will i need to get a decent yield off CFLs)

Wow, I know what was alot of questions, but i would love if someone could help a brotha out!

those 40w should be ok for the first stages providing there only an inch or 2 away from them. Would advise getting some more light on the case for later stages as that will not be enough. Maybe 2 more 40w cfls will be ok for 2 plants

The minimum amount of light required by marijuana plants is around 3000 lumens per square foot. However, it's not 100% accurate, since although you may have a 10,000 lumen light, the amount of light that reaches the plant varies with the distance between the light and plants, and reflectivity of the grow box. The ideal amount is somewhere around 7000-10,000 lumens/sqft, and as long as the plants do not burn, as much light can be used as you want.
(*note, the sun produces about 10,000 lumens/sqft, on a sunny summer day)."

thanks for the info everyone. I added some mylar type shit to my whole grow box. I then got a fan going, but it's a bit loud... Any ideas to sound proof the fan? I also plan to add more cfls later in the coming weeks.
