Few less watts. I'm excited to see a hps against the Amare. Pictures are tough to see, what's your take so far?
It looks like the SE-450 is slightly ahead. I did a massive defoliation at around week four of flower which is a little late. It definitely set them back a bit. The lady under the SE-450 had grown up past the light so I bent her over about 1 1/2 ft. We then cleaned up the bottom 1/3 of the plants and opened them up. Here are a couple of close ups..

I posted a response to this the other day but somehow lost it.
In allot if pain now cuz just underwent a surgery so I'll try to respond again. But, it's good to see this. Are you running a thread? Keep us posted here.
Yeah, I experienced more vertical growth then I expected.
These are the real side by sides. HPS vs. LED. So many led growers here seem like they've never used HPS but make comparisons off of what they read. That's ok I guess for them but side by sides like this are much needed I feel.
Nice job!
It's kindve hard to get all the benefits of the Amare w/o extra height to accommodate the footprint I feel. But, at least the lenses are removable. Dying to grow with the lenses as the par #'s are super high.
Awesome job bud!
Your HPS seams like its redder then normal? Maybe just the camera. I noticed when I take a pic of mine it's yellow w/o the flash like the 22k & looks more like 35k when my flash is on.
Maybe this example shows what I mean?!image.jpgimage.jpgor maybe m just high from pain meds.

I ran 2 600 hps over a 4x6 and things were going good till I noticed one of my bulbs started looking dim and started sagging. Tough to explain but I think the mogul socket started to seperate from the bulb. The second I touched it it sprayed sparks. So I guess I can't say I have done a full hps run but if I ever do again I'm making sure I keep the glass on it and buy something better than ipower.

I started out with CFL's and DWC. Switched to HPS and had a few grows. I went away for a weekend and the timer failed on my ventilation fan. I got home and my plants were totally fried and the temps in the tent was over a 160 degrees F.... Scared the piss out of me. So I started looking at LED. I bought some well known Burple lights and they would veg very nicely and my heat issues disappeared. Yet in flower I never could get dense buds. SOOO I bought two more and that helped some. I was getting ready to purchase a MARS light when I ran into this guy who was talking some real commonsense stuff about white light LED's (Guess who that was?) The rest is history and I have never looked back. AMARE is a fantastic company and you can't beat the customer service! As for the HPS color it is a Eye Hortilux Enhanced Spectrum Bulb... Yes, I am running a thread on another forum. I am running 100 % coco with Cogo's Nutrients. Just turned the UVB on and I was surprised at the trichome production just after a few days. I tend to grow "trees" and Victor suggested not to run with lenses and they lady is doing just fine. Hope you recover quickly from surgery.

Yeah, I've come home to some pretty high temps before. Scary stuff. Everything's on the line & to think one lousy timer of fuse could be the differance. I've bumped them n had my lights come on in the middle of lights out. Talk about panic.
After doing this side by side, I wonder if all Burple lights perform this poorly? So many had great things to say about them when I was learning. But so many said bad things too. Personally, I really wanted to believe the BML comparison w/ the GAVITAS w/ the Grow-Max spectrum. The HH had new technology by having their entire spectrum in one diode & COB, plus it looked like a great spectrum from what I learned. Oooohhh, was I wrong. It does veg really well though.
Am I that guy? I'm heavily medicated. Lol! Thanks for the recovery wishes.
Yeah, I noticed my Amare weed was so crystally. Also, my cola structure was much longer. My HPS weed was big spears on the top & my Amare weed the colas connected to be much longer. It's that full spectrum I'm sure of it.
Glad to hear it when people love their Amare & gained something from this grow too. It makes me feel like buying the HH was not a waste of my money.
Good work Where am I! What strain is that? How far along are you?

I did a lot of research back in the day and one thing that I noticed was that the large production growers always used at least 50 -80 watts of light per square foot. What was missing was intensity. in :LED. I don't think many of the Company's out there intentionally meant to mislead the consumer (Yet there were a lot that were just to make a buck.) HPS was used for years because of the intensity. I remember getting old warehouse lights to use. As for being the guy you would have been using white LED back in early 2014 before AMARE became a company...
Once "white" LED became affordable it was the next logical course. You have the sun as the standard and even though we think we understand how a plant uses that light there is a lot more that we do not know. As for the strain they are clones from the same mother. Larry OG.

Awwww shiiiiiitttt! Just found out from Victor Amare's 25% off for the rest of the month! Guess there's been this sale for a min. Wonder if it's the 420 sale extended?
Dunno, but I'll have it.
Looks like I'll be getting my SP-4's sooner then later. Which means I'll finally be kicking this room over for another flower.
This time all Amares, no messing around w/ these comparison games anymore. No need!
Freakin lost allot more $$$ then I thought I might!
Well, we all sure as hell know NOT TO EVER BUY A HYDROPONICS HUT LIGHT. NEVER EVER!!!!! EVER, EVER!!!!
Veg is looking awesome. I'll have pics tom.
How's everyone else doing?
I see you'z w/ some nice growing going on!

The next flower will be 10'x7' I think. But more like 9'x6.5' really.
Planning on using 3, SP-4's, & 2, SE-450's. Maybe some side-lighting too!
Outta be good!

That grows looking great so far man. your running your lights pretty high huh?

The sale is great! I bet they finally caught up on production and while living in pressure you always tend to put yourself back in it for some reason. Sale means things are gonna get extra busy. 860$ for a se-450 is a steal.

Things are rocking in my place. Might put a craigslist add up, trimmers needed- pay u in pot lol. I'm finishing up on a new frame for some 3590's I picked up. Running out of light and couldn't stand using Mars when a few feet away I had the Amare's image.jpeg

Got some Fatties coming in I see! Sweeeeet! Ha! I know the feeling about trimming. On it now. Gotta actually schedule trim week. Trimming 12 hr days w/ 3 people. Usually takes about 10days. I can do 1 plant in 8-12 hours depending on the stain. (You're prolly joking but wouldn't hire strangers) lol!
Is this harvest looking a little better then you're used to w/ them Kinds? Or did you even get a flower done w/ them before they blew? I don't remember.
Was thinking about replacing the center cobs in my HH w/ hopes it may flower something someday. More like I want to do it just for fun. It has a COB & surrounding 5 watters similiar to Amare. But not that similiar as it barely yielded 1/3 of my Amare using 50 more watts. image.jpg
Was thinking either replacing the cobs w/ hopes of it working for flower or replacing the 660's in the corners with blues or high temp, like 65k whites so I can use it on full power to veg. See the 660's in the corners. image.jpgNot sure which route I'll take. Leaning towards the veg unit as I know it does well in veg. Switching the cobs to be a flower light w/ an enhanced spectrum is still a risk I think. But I'm dying to try seeing how I'll have some time on my hands.
I doubt they will ever honor their warranty anyways if something blows. I should copy n post their response to me when I told them their light doesn't work & they lied to me. Freaking ridiculous! Wish I knew how to post a review on their site, fuckers.
I told Amare I scratched one of my reflectors & they offered to send me another one instantly, no questions asked! Never took them up on it cuz I was actually over-reacting. But I know they'll take care of any little thing if I want them to. That's a good feeling. Especially now that I know what it feels like to be shafted by an LED comp.

Even if it did well in veg you should still modify it a little to make it a super veg light. I don't know man that's one ugly ass light for sure. I did see one worse on Amazon but god what do some of these people think. I said this before but I really enjoy trimming. This run I can't do alone unfortunately but I'll do my best. Your at 360 man hours in at like 50 man hours, Big difference.

It's to tough to tell what the outcome will be this run under Amare, I did underestimated their power and ran into a problem earlier on but things seemed to settle with changes. I'm also in a new bigger room and using different nutrients but I'm atleast double the size and have weeks left. I made my room 75% bigger thinking things will be easier but I had to take 5 oversized plants from my tables and run them in the hallway to space them out. Where Kind was sort of like my Mars hydro yield. Good enough but nothing really amazing.

Long ass post. I have to say growers house taking dented up lights back when they didn't have to is really amazing. I was hit with a 25% restock but that's still a good chunk. I contacted kind numerous times about the difference and like you the email responses were absolute bullshit. Blaming me for the damages when they made me send dozens of photos of each light. Basically made me take a day to get the lights properly packaged to their liking and a photo of all the steps. Then when they got them damaged they said I didn't take pictures of all sides because I was most likely hiding something. Our policy bs. Anyways I ended up telling them in return for their terrible customer service my goal for the next year was to cost their company as many sales as I could. My kind k5 1000 thread will be up soon. A thousand dollar loss is nothing but out of principal if I cost them any sales I'll be happy.

Everything is looking awesome in your garden !! I was a little slow on the SP 4 so you are talking of the Solar Pro Series? I have a shame on you story about Hydro Grow... I had a couple of modules burn out a couple of years ago and it took forever for them to send me replacements. When I got them they were obviously used. Well I took those lights out recently to use them to veg some seedlings and clones.I had all my AMARES in the Flowering tents! The same modules I replaced burnt out within a month on two of the lights. So I decided to contact the company and at first they seemed helpful but wanted me to fill out a warranty claim form (which I did). Guess what I never heard back from them. I sent them several follow up e-mails still no reply. Sooo I decided to check out their website for replacements parts. They had the modules I needed but the cost of just one module was a 1/4 cost of a SS-100 which was a lot more powerful than the 84X... It really bummed me out Well that is my SHAME ON YOU story.

Well, I'd venture to gues Victor will offer it to you when you tell him you're interested In a light.
Or you just say: Yo Vic, wazup with my 25% off mang?
Last I knew it ends when the month does but not positive.

You're low-ridin hu! That's tough. Mad work hu?! You have to flower them young?
Thnx, but actually feel like I'm short in there. The last run w/ them GG#4's was a close call & that trellis was set to 3'6". But those were terribly vegged, oversized plants. I get better yeilds from my shorter plants. Veg is mega important & is often overlooked.

Send an email and be impressed how fast he replies. Lol I was. Rocknratm send him a few actually, ask about the lights, specs, the company anything. See why so many of us love Amare before even seeing one in person. I'm telling you in my 34 years of life I haven't seen anything operate smoother. Not sales pitch smooth just on his shit smooth. He cares and that goes along way.

Hell ya! That's the truth. Can't even believe how HH treated me. They could've just accepted the light back & id be here saying something all together differant. It yields what it yields but some good ideas that may work out for them if they care to perfect it. But NOPE, they literally sell you a light they already know doesn't work for shit & have the ordasity to be cocky about n say their for Professionals mainly. Only commercial clients that grow in warehouses buy their lights. Ya right.

Hey, did you guys know the new Solar Pro Series is now optional to get a HO (High Output) version? I heard they're finally going to offer COBs running @ 70% power instead of the normal 50% for that BS efficiency shit.
I think you all know my opinion on this matter. CRANK UP YOUR COBS PUSSYS has always been my modo.
I want more weed way more then I want to save a few bucks a month on my electric bill. WAY MORE!!!! So ill be going all HO !! Hell ya man. It's a dream come true!!!
