Looking for a premade grow box / cabinet

Hey guys... I am looking to start a some what stealth operation and am looking for some type of a turn key grow box / cabinet.

I have seen a couple of things online and wanted hear anyones input, and suggestions on this.

I am not looking to grow a ton just enough for a real good stash.

by the way. I dont know if you have alot of money to spare but never in my right mind would I even think of paying 2K for a box that I can make for probably less than 1. anyone agree?

Saw thanks for the response... I don't know anyone and I am not the best handy man.. 2k for me is worth it as long as I know its solid.. It would save me a lot of time and headache..

Which one do you think would do best? Is the cabinet too big / to much energy?

I was looking at the very same systems as you a few months ago, my friend, and I can tell you that piecing together your own system is the way to go. It requres more work on your part, of course, but the end result will be vastly superior to a pre-fab'd unit and cheaper too. I'm not the handiest person in the world either, but if you can connect a computer or a surround sound system, you can make your own box. You have plenty of people here that are willing to help you every step along the way, but it really isn't all that complicated.

The trick is shopping around for your various components. You're going to need to do a lot of research too. Don't go spreading your money around before you have a solid plan. Put together some ideas and run them by the forum. We'll lead you in the right direction as long as you're appreciative and not act like you already know everything. Check out the growfaq link at the top of the page for lots of background info that will surely benefit you down the road. Read plenty of posts in the grow room design forum as well to give you an idea of what your options are.

Like I said above I am not trying to create a safari of plants but I am looking for enough to be worth it.. What type of size am I looking at?

For this I can just buy a cabinet(dont know where) , 400 watt light would be fine right from HTGSupply?

I am a little confused about what to do for cooling... Any special type of fan I could use that would be easy to intergrate? I know some people use computer fans but do they sell them with a plug or do I need to wire it myself?

I think the first thing you should do is decide what your budget is. That pretty much dictates what your options will be.

You might want to check craigslist or other local ads to find a cabinet, or wardrobe of some sort(in my area people sell growing supplies all the time). A good 5-6' of headroom would be nice. You want your plants to be about 2'(3 would be nice) and you'll need 2-3' of space to hang your light and have room to adjust distance from your plants. I grow in one of these, by the way.

I don't know how important it is for you to mask odors, but you might want to get a charcoal filter and fan combo. Something like this. As for where to get all this stuff, I got almost everything from Cheap Hydroponics. My only complain with them is that they don't offer free shipping for large orders like some other sites do.

Please don't spend anything over $350 on a pc grow box. Home grown hydro's pc grow box does not work, its far too small and whats with hydro in a pc case? that reservoir is far too small to be using hydro. Please make your own or look on ebay or www.pcgrowcase.com if you want one pre-made.

used refrigerator dude. check out my pics in my album. i am in the process of building one right now and i have very little out of pocket expense into this thing. i have looked at these cabs too but they are not for potheads. not in my opinion. if you can find a refrigerator you have your cab and you can construct the whole thing while getting your babies going in it.

use wood or mdf .. It will be alot easier to fabricate and cut/drill etc.i thnk going for metal is overlkill. Local thrift stores like salvation army has dressers / cabs etc you can buy one and gut it and turn the inside into w/e u want.

The whole idea is STEALTH. A frig may look a little out of place although im sure it would produce great results. With all these dwarf auto flowering strains coming out, i'd have to say a computer case is one of the best ideas because no one would think you could grow weed in one, especially not mommy and daddy... Lowryder only gets up to 18" tall and a server tower is 21" tall so it fits perfectly.

Although i can build my own stealth box if i wanted, i think www.pcgrowcase.com has a smart idea having two grow boxes, one for veg and one for flower to keep the weed coming in constantly. Homegrown hydro is just way too pricy, but interesting nonetheless.

PC cases are a waste of time, in my opinion. Some people are cool with tiny yields, I'm just not one of them. An old speaker cabinet, dresser or wardrobe is the way to go. Even if someone insisted on growing in a PC case, it can probably be done for less than $100, not $350.

I guess it all depends on what your definition of a 'tiny' yield is. For me, a half ounce is perfect for myself and one or two friends. That can easily be accomplished in 2 pc cases using lowryder.

look into the mini caddy....for 1400. i think its a good set up has lots of stuff that comes with it...watch the vdeo on it heres the link...this will be what im getting when my soil gro is done....http://www.sunlightsheds.com/mini-caddy.htm....i think of all the turnkey system this and the larger model are decent...i know quite a few peeps that have had gr8 success with them...if u do get this one, add the co2 system to it..only 145 buks more..
