Have you made any recently ? Ive ready up on safety and by the looks of things if you do it right it should be okay

I do it every harvest and yes it is very safe if your not an idiot, yes I was . Outdoors away from buildings where the butane can get under a door (it's heavier than air FYI). I've never had another issue and that's 20 years accident free, should get a sign .

Thanks mate ! For the moment i think this harvest im gonna go with bubble hash made with ice and water. Never smoked it either so it will be a good experience

I gave all my trim from last season to my mate, he takes me and the shake around to this guys house to make 'Dabs'. The dude ends up getting a plastic bottle and some cloth and spraying a whole can of camping butane through it onto a plate, creating this 'dab'. Moral of the story, don't do that.

Just scroll way down in the forum page for the c & e section. You've got some research to do before you start blasting butane everywhere.
You can buy a vac chamber but it's cheaper to DIY one out of a mason jar. I use a heat pad wrapped around mine and that is hooked to a vacuum pump that basically sucks off the excess butane after extraction. Unpurged BHO contains butane unless you do a super long heat purge. Either way it's fairly easy to do as long as you are safe and take some precautions. Butane is highly flammable; so be careful and do it outside & you'll be fine. Read up on this a bit more before you try it though- there are thousands of threads on this

It's all good, I do make dry sift as well which I prefer but never get enough lol. I do love my black hash .

Or just get some bubble bags...yes start there. You can make dabbable hash very easily. I personally use all hash methods: I will run about half my trim as BHO half as hash depending upon how much I've got to run. My giant tube only holds about an oz & a half so instead of multiple BHO run I just do one an done.
It is all about convenience and level of patience at the time for me. I run BHO after 3 days of drying fresh frozen; I usually do only a nug run and save the smaller trims for hash making. You don't have to get a bubble max machine which is basically a mini clothes washer but it makes for less effort and higher quality extracts. Fresh frozen is not as good in the bubble bags so I dry the trims/popcorn completely before running hash through the bags. Whatever is left goes in my drysift screen; wifey likes a big ol spoonful of kief on top but doesn't like dabs as much as I do.

Why are you so offended? Im a bho head myself but sorry, rosin takes the crown when it comes to easy small batches & tasty extracts. Best of all, you just need the press and flowers! No oven/tane/dishes/tubes ect

Get some bubble bags off ebay. Even the cheapy 3 bag set works perfect. Then you need nothing but some ice and water.
I personally dont think there is a cleaner smoke than rosin from bubble. Being I have heart issues, my heart is affected every time I did dabs of BHO. No matter how hard you try or how great of equipment you have, you will never get true "clean" BHO. I dont think it can even be done in labs but I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.
Bubble hash is 100% natural, clean and chemical free. Rosin made from bubble hash is heavenly.
I get a 25% return on my bubble to rosin with a hair straightener and parchment paper pretty regularly.
My last batch was 2.3g of rosin from 8.2g of bubble.

I find one of these will put out just about all the force a hair iron can take, for about $25.

As far as prep, I like to pre-compress about 1g of de-stemmed nug in folded parchment , aiming for the fully flattened puck to just reach the edges of the iron plates so the oil can pool outside the heat . With the pictured vise and a sideways hair iron you can see the wave of oil spurt up on the top, ideally the same happens down below as well

Well I would expect about 6-7g off an oz of good flower (7g would be 25% return). As it works out, your return is often roughly the same # as your THC content( of course highly depends on gear, process, flower freshness, etc). I find I end up with about 25% return off some 25% thc bud, but when I use some 10% I get back about...10% lol. Not saying there is a direct correlation, just seems to be how the universe balances itself lol. Also I find the large presses to be great for doing lots of work, but they do leave more behind than the gram at a time presses, due to how far thru the puck the oil has to travel...

It was Kosher Kush and Confidential Cheese both from Reserva Privada. I use the larfy buds and sugar leaf trim for my bubble hash. Cant say how much since I dont weigh anything until I make some bubble. Once I make the bubble I break out the scale to see my return on the bubble to rosin. If I had to guess, Id say I probably use about 1.5-2oz of plant material per bubble run, but I double run my bags. The 8.2g that I had in the pics above were my first bag run. I likely had another 2-3g of nice blonde bubble from my 45 & 25 micron bags.

In Colorado a few companies are making bho with closed loop systems pure n butane.
From package - "concentrate refinement process resulting in 0ppm residual solvents".

I use a drum humidifier with silk screen covering the drum and just let the larf tumble for a few days like a rock tumbler then it goes into the tube. Lately it's just been going into the tube then vacuume chamber .
