This soil recipe sound ok

15 gal of recycled plagron light mix soil
30% extra perlite
5 gal of ewc
2 cups of kelp
8cups of volcanic rock dust
2 cups of lime
3cups or organic fert

Cook for 4 weeks does this sound like it will get me through using water only start to finish.

i like the mix.... give it plenty of aeration while cooking.....may be a tiny bit hot for tiny girls but all in all it should be great. beautiful mix

Sounds good so far, but, it all depends what's in that organic fert and how many plants you're planning to grow in that 20 gal of soil. I'd strongly recommend adding some neem meal, crabshell meal and gypsum and using a little less of the organic mix, your soil would be golden then. It'd probably cost you an extra £40 including shipping, but you'd get enough to last a good few runs and would be well worth it because you would know that you have some fast, medium and long term acting nutrients in your soil. It's possible the nutrients in the organic mix are all highly soluble and totally depleted after 4-6 weeks, with the crabshell, at least you KNOW that you will have N & P and calcium in the mix for a long time. Then there's the benefits of chitin, but, that's a whole thread on it's own.

Yeah I hear what your saying but like you say I just don't have funds rite now as long as it's better than using soil with liquid frets and having to ph and mess around all the time then that's ok for me the organic fert I'm told is pretty good this is the description

I don't think any soil mix will go start to finish(water only) with just 5 gals of soil, without some additional topdressing.

My suggestion would be to go for it, with what you've got for now, then start topdressing small amounts during flower. That would give you time to aquire the grade A amendments to topdress with and you'd have them on hand for when you re-cycle and re-amend.

Yeah I can add a couple of teas during flower with a little too dress if need be and its called neudorff multi purpose organic fert I've also just got some oyster shell flour and will probably substitute that for a cup of lime.

add some fulvic acid, humic acid, humus, alfalfa meal, neem meal, epson salts and some crab meal.

Not sure how effective this part of it will be as itz already pre mixed (maybe ineffective) and mycorrizae should be delivered direct to the root zone of a plant at time of transplant or planting. It requirez a host plant to become active.

Well got the ingredients and mixed everything up I must say it feels and smells quality added about 5 litres of water and mixed took about 2 hours as most of it was by hand absolutely back breaking but glad I've done it
